The video game thread

Been a while since I been here, busy with the boring real life heh.

Damn people at EB won't let me have the Legend of Zelda Collection without buying a GameCube.

I guess I should have waited a bit longer before I bought my Cube.

You didn't ask so you must want to know what games I played over my absence!

Here's the ones I actually finished:

PS2

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
Manhunt
Jak 2
Silent Hill 3

GBA

Megaman and Bass
Shining Soul
Double Dragon

XBox

Legacy of Kain: Defiance (the best one in my list IMO)

For the relatively cheap price of $20, one can get the disc as a bonus for subscribing to Nintendo Power. Another method would be to register your cube at the Nintendo website, along with a couple of specific games, to get the disc as well (a bit vague on that one, but the details are at Nintendo's site).

No can do.

I stopped paying for propaganda magazines when I realized they are nothing more than trash written by burned out imbeciles who give thumbs up to whatever game made by the sponsor who can cough up the most advertising revenue.

And I don't own any of the Cube games that can be used to register for the game.

I'll just wait until EB and the other place that accept trade ins to start selling them like they did with the MAster Quest disc released with Wind Waker.

Thanks for the effort tho.

;)

my Wife and me decided not to discriminate...a true gamer doesn't discriminate after all...lol...so we got all three console systems...GameCube, PS2, and Xbox...have them connected to a central Video/Audio output box, making switching between them as simple as the push of a button...lol...

as for favorite types of games...hmmmmmm...i'd say...

RPG, action/adventure, first-person shooters, survival horror...the only type/kind we really don't play is sports games...cannot stand those!!!!

these days, however, i'm fully addicted to Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic, for Xbox...haven't been able (or wanted to for that matter) to stop playing it...

Been there :)

Hi T!

I can't stop playing Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain, and NFS: HP2 (it's a greatest hit now). Those two games have taken up all my gaming time.

Evenin all

...and another game i'm sure to be addicted to is Splinter Cell...haven't played it yet, and now there's a sequel as i understand it...i still have to play the first one...lol...

Hard... very very hard...

Just remember. Don't go around shooting everything. It's not an FPS. Well it sort of is, but running around with a big grin and your small gun is not a smart idea.

~Tap Out, thanks for the tip on Splinter Cell...yeah, you have to be discrete, shadowy, and make sure to hide the bodies...silence and invisibility are of the essence from what i've been told...lol...

I've been contemplating this. Obviously it's a scheme to get user info, but I've been in the Nintendo camp since grade school, so Nintendo knowing I bought Mario games is no big whoop. Anyways, I own MK: DD!!, and have been contemplating getting Super Mario Brothers: Superstar Saga to get the bonus disc. My question: is this game any good? I've read decent reviews, but I dunno. It looks so cheesy. C'mon, a Mario Bros. RPG?

I thought the same thing about Legend of the Seven Stars though - and hindsight is proving me wrong there. Any impressions, reviews?

Yeah.. that sounds about right. But the game definatly kicks ass. Well worth the playing time, and I myself am looking forward to the second one.

Now if only I could manage to win events 29 & 30 in NFS:HP2 :D

...the cooperative, squad-based military games kick ass too...like Ghost Recon, SOCOM US Navy Seals, Desert Storm 1 and 2, etc...haven't played the Navy Seals one yet, i'm gettin' way behind...but then, that's bound to happen when you own three different consoles and two networked PCs...lol...

i'm looking forward to the sequel to Halo...that's going to be something...

Skip Counter Strike ...

Esp if you have played Rainbow Six 3 on the X-box ...

I have seen this game traded in & return more than any other game this year ...

i'm bored someone send me a videogame , i dont know if i can wait till x-mas for new toys

The best I can do is send you this link to a bunch of free Flash games. The versions of PacMan and Asteroids are great, and the Space Invaders conversion is pretty cool too (though the last alien never takes off like a rocket like it did in the arcade version)

Um, no.

From what I read, she was supposed to get that disc to begin with yet they were out of stock at the moment.

I bought my GameCube a loooooong time ago, before the price drops and pack in games came about.

Besides I already asked about that. :)

Max Payne and Max Payne2, these are great games...the Bullett Time function really adds to the fun, i think...the escalated violence and adult themes help too...lol...all with a dark, twisted story of personal horror...almost can't beat that...

...waiting hungrily for Metal Gear Solid 3 to be released...that should be a great game...quite a change in the overall environment and such for the entire game too...

I am waiting for this game and for Syphon Filter 4. From what I read, SF4 will have a create-an-agent feaure.
