The video game thread

Resident Evil 0 is hard.

At least for me. Its so dark and its always moving. But its so cool to see the graphics.

I breezed through Easy Mode, then smacked into a wall in Normal. Jump in difficulty is enormous.

But, I finished it and unlocked the super weapons heh!

I'm back this week.... I HOPE! *gulp!*

So I've been absent from Lit for a few days. "Why?", you all ask in unison... I know you've all missed me intently, with everyone pressing PAUSE on their systems to drop by Lit and send me a quick PM with a message about "Hey FJ, where are ya... when are ya coming back?". Your thoughts are greatly appreciated, and I'll reply to all of you as soon as possible. :)

[/Sarcasm]

Alright... so anyways. A couple days ago my computer crashed. Again. I'm not sure what went wrong... at first it was just a memory error (trying to overwrite a location which already had memory in it), and then all of a sudden I rebooted and it said that there was a problem with the Windows 2000 configuration and that it needed to be reinstalled.

SHAZBOT!

I had a crash about a month ago, but it was a little different circumstances. I was smart enough that once I got everything re-downloaded (tools like WinZip, Download Accelerator, Yahoo, MSN, etc) and re-installed, that I made a Norton Ghost Image of the system, so that if I ever had to wipe-and-reinstall, that I could be back up and running within 30 mins. Well, I tried to re-image the Ghost image to the drive, and it still didn't recognize the Windows configuration.

DOUBLE SHAZBOT!!

So I did a regular, fresh re-partitioning and re-formatting of my drive and a fresh install, and here I am right now. Configuring the dial-up connection is the first and only thing I've done since the system has been back up (about 24 hours now). I wanted to check my mail and come here to see what's going on. I guess I kinda missed the place. Or maybe I missed being online in general... I dunno. Either way - here is the update. Tonight I'm going to try to re-install that Image one more time, just to see if it takes. If it doesn't, then I'm going to be VERY upset (having to wipe and re-install yet AGAIN). Wish me luck!

Liontamr - Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a blast and got a few of the things you wanted (from others). ;)

Eagle70 - You can include me in the "Xbox" group. I thought my 2 exceedingly long posts fully explained my Xbox-ownership-status, but I might not have been as explicit as necessary. lol ;) Even though I'm fairly new (today is the 8th day of owning the system), I'm very enthusiastic about it, and I'm going to my best friend's house tomorrow night for a whole night of gaming. I think I'm going to take my Xbox and a 19" TV so we don't have to play split-screen. I can't wait! :D

I asked about Persona because I was currently going through it again, but it doesn't have to be addressed. What I'm more curious about is who's played BMX:XXX yet. Is it any good? Seriously, does having nudity make it any . . . better?

I'll probably rent it sometime mid-week this week. If/when I do, I'll come back here and post my thoughts. Tyrael: a little gratuitous nudity never hurt anybody... especially if it's fun, bouncy nudity. It's a beautiful thing, and I'm kinda looking forward to it. I understand your point, but I think nudity and violence are separate issues. Cheers! :)

Anyways... that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Thanks Johnny! I did get a few things I had been wanting, but I didn't get what I'd really want!! Ah well.. not like I was expecting it anyway...

It looks like MK5 and NHL 2K3 are gonna fill my time off work up in the next few days... I showed my best friend (also known as a PS2 boy) what it looks like on Xbox and he was impressed.. Not sure how much different it looks on PS2, but we'll find out in two days when he gets it.

Any one heard anymore of Project Ego for the X-Box? The game will kick ass.

Morrowind is sweet too. But LOTR's game suckeed on all platforms.

I'm only a little under 4,000 posts higher than Pez and LT. ;)

And I'm eager to play The Two Towers for the xbox when it comes out the 31st.

Cibo - So if Pezzie and I think we have no life as we sit at about 5K, what does 8600+ say about your life? :p

Orlanth - I've heard of it, but for some reason today I can't remember what it's about. I'll have to do a little looking up. :)

I think you bought the wrong LtoR game. Fellowship is really bad, but Two Towers Rocks!!! It's the next game I am picking up for the X-Box.

I started to play Metal Dungeon ...

I have no fleckin clue to what I am doing ... LOL ... I should read the manual.

The character creation reminds me of PSO.

That I use my time wisely. :p :p

And I give up on LOW2...taking it back early.

Only good things in it is the soundtrack(great sound track, even has Salvia and Earshot in it) and the amount of moves you can do, storylines are alright. Oh and you can pick any finisher out of like 3,700 moves.

Something I just noticed about the music...you can load your own music that you saved into the game and listen to it while you kick ass. Now that's pretty cool.

Hmmm.... No one has posted their loot yet. Very well, I will go first:

end list

Nothing!!! I'm a little disappointed, I thought someone would've picked up on the hint that I really, really liked Samba 2K. Oh well. Just means I'll have to treat myself more this year.

That's not to say I got the short end of the stick - many a grand DVD are now in my posession. Just no new games.

C'est la vie. Curious to read the games and reviews of the games everyone else got though. That is, if you all can pull yourselves from their grasp. :)

No games... but plenty of money to go towards games. :)

I was thinking of getting MechAssult today.. or I just may wait until I get tired of MK5 and NHL 2K3

Christmas loot!!!

I got a couple of games;
Legends of Wrestling 2
Dead to Rights

DTR is actually pretty fun, but with the close to 200 bucks i got, i'm gonna get Max Pain, Devil May Cry, Rocky, and Madden 2003. Thats about 140 bucks right there, for 4 games, not a bad deal.

I got the Rocky boxed set DVD collection, as well as the Godfather Collection. Got some much needed new clothes, this SWEET leather jacket which will help me work the "Lost Boy" look, and just some other random crap, a Rat Pack poster, Godfather plaque, cool stuff.

Oh, btw, LOW2 sucks BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD, its just fun to be Hacksaw Jim Duggan and take on Superfly Jimmy Snuka:D

Hey, where is everybody? Pezzie, SB, where've you two been?:( i miss my friends
