Heh, Racing games.. you just HAVE to have your own soundtrack playing with those, while the original Gran Turismo had a decent soundtrack, number 3's sucked in a major way. Of course regardless I still put my own music on (and if possible, turn it up full blast ).

The thing about PGR was that it had a kick ass soundtrack alone.. So I do have my 13 hours of music I love, but at least another 20 songs or so on the game's soundtrack that I love to mix in and listen to as well.

Speaking of music in games, the new GTA has over 9 hours of music on it's soundtrack...or something like that.
What game do you all play when you just feel like kicking ass? My current favorite is GTA3...I mean, what could possibly make you feel better than killing hookers with baseball bats?

I don't play games when I feel like kicking ass.. Only when I feel either bored or wanting to unwind and let my mind drift.

btw SB, that football game tonight... Normally I don't put of online friends when I am playing cuz I can do both at the same time, but I was in the middle of a majestic comeback in the 3rd against the scRams being played by some guy in Florida..

If I'm just kind of excited and want to kick some virtual ass, I'll load up Smackdown 2 (for it's beat em up style, just because it's quick, yes even thought I always rail on it, it's a good beat em up).

However, if I'm in the "I'm angry and want to kick someones ass" mode... If my mates down, I'll take it out on him, literally (We're wrestlers, we'll just go outside and throw each other around for an hour until we're to exhausted to carry on, and of course all punches thrown are controlled punches, so we don't get hurt).

Or If my mates not here, I'll just smack my leg a few times (get's the adrenaline transferred in a safer way than aiming it at someone else, and I know I'll be fine afterwards, albiet a slight bruise)... and now you're all scared of me .

I remember flashback!!! That game was HARD as hell...i got pretty far in it though...it was awesome. I've still got it, but i havent played it in forever.

When i get pissed, i dont usually play games...i tend to lift, or run, or punch stuff very hard. Games are more of a relaxing thing.

Oh, and Bob, i beat X-Men last night. so much better when you dont need to pump in quarters

I can't listen to music to loud when playing Gran Tureismo. I tend to shift my own gears, and I never look at the needle, I always play it by ear. I tried having music on a little lower than the game sound effects and it did work some, but I found myself jamming to the music than paying attention to the road.

Now reading all these posts I feel the need to download X-Men.. now I just need to sift through the pages to find the links to the emulator and the game *L*. BTW would the emulator work well on a P3 600?

www.vimm.net has most of the Famicom and Super Famicom games available, as well as emulators for both. I believe they also have a Genesis emulator, but no games.

For wrestling, my favorite game is still No Mercy for N64, just cause its so awesome. No game has even come close, especially none of the PS2 games. Too fast, they're more like Beat-Em-Ups then wrestling games.

I'm still waiting on Vice City, and i think i'll but Bloodrayne while i'm at it...or i might just wait until my birthday (November 21) for Bloodrayne. We shall see...

And as for this whole "ban sniper games" or whatever, i mean, who is that foolish that by knowing how to tap a few buttons, you know how to become a sniper? Its such bullshit, it really is. I hate hearing about this crap, it pisses me off...people are so stupid. Even a 5 year old knows that if you line up the cross hairs on something, you're gonna hit it. It takes alot more than moving an analog stick and hitting a button to "learn" how to be a sniper.

Certainly it would work fine. My son has a Celeron 450 and he can play some newer arcade games on MAME32 just fine.

I think it all falls back on the parents. Parents need to see the warning signs.

My oldest daughter has some severe emotional problems. She has a problem controlling her violent outbursts, and so my wife and I recognized this problem and got her some help. We also realize that she needs to be kept from certain things that may cause violence in her. We don't let her watch violent movies, listen to music that is degrading to women or filled with violent themes, or play games that are violent. We do closely monitor these things with our other kids as well...but we don't keep our kids from enjoying themselves.

If we do see warning signs, then we know to react as parents. I think many parents need to step up and do the same.

I'm sure your parents did the same Eagle. If you got out of line, I bet they put you back in your place right? THAT is what society is missing.

Bob, the way you're raising your kids is to me the BEST way to do things. Honestly, wow, you're a great dad, i can just tell.

And HELL YEAH they did. If i got out of line...to quote Denis Leary on this one "my parents used to beat the living shit out of me, and i'm glad they did, i'm a better person for it". I thank my mom and dad for handing me and Ass-whupping if i did anything wrong. There wasnt any "lets talk about your feelings" or anything like that, it was just my mom's hand squarley across my ass. I learned what's right and wrong.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Parenting is something that my wife and I are constantly working on...and we even take classes and counseling (voluntarily.) Spanking is something we do in our house...for certain things only though.

It's cool that we have similar beliefs on this. I just wish people would get off their high-horse when it comes to violence and its causes.

It took me like 15 minutes to download the X-Men game...i wanna get WWF Wrestlemania, but that'll take like 5 days. Its terrible, i'm gonna have to work on it though. I remember that game, the L.O.D. and like Hacksaw Jim Duggan and stuff are in that...i want it bad!!!

Man, I remember the days of dialup. Seems like I was downloading 1MB an hour. Broadband is spreading fast though.

If you have satellite TV, you can get dual-directional broadband for about $19.99 a month. Well, that's the price here at least.

You do know that you can keep in touch with everyone from AOL with AIM right? Everything that is on AOL is available on the internet anyways.

I have had broadband for about 4 years now, and every time I go to visit someone that has dialup, I have nightmares.

When you finally do get broadband, I'm sure you'll be a downloading maniac. I know I was at first.
