The video game thread

Why do you want to keep AOL? I'm curious.

You do know that you can keep in touch with everyone from AOL with AIM right? Everything that is on AOL is available on the internet anyways.

I have had broadband for about 4 years now, and every time I go to visit someone that has dialup, I have nightmares.

When you finally do get broadband, I'm sure you'll be a downloading maniac. I know I was at first.

As i was about to respond to this post, i got booted offline. Isnt THAT friggin ironic?

Bob, the reason i want to keep AOL is because of my email addy. I've had it for like 5 years, and i really really like my email account. Screwing that up...i dunno, its what i'm used to, and i'm happy with it. I know all about AIM and stuff, cause i used that when i lived at school. But i still got to check my aol account. I'm weird like that i guess.

As for downloading, when i was at school, we had broadband, and it was INSANE. I've got so much porn on my computer....:D Not to mention close to 400 mp3's. I'd be downloading even more if i had a faster connection

thank you hon

Can't you check an AOL email account from anywhere though? I mean, without using AOL?

Ya gotta do things the hard way, dontcha Eagle? :D

Hey now.. don't let Eagle screw up the image of all men all by himself. Let us have some of the fun of bringing the names of all males out there *L*

aww...I don't hate men. It's quite the opposite actually ;)

I just have to give him a hard time. Men make me giggle.

so what is the famous e-mail account that you are so attached to?

I think that a Yahoo email where you decide your own domain name would be cooler. Like: Joe@Cool.com or Hot@Stud.com

But anything@aol.com just doesn't have any sort of cool feel to it.

Hell, @hotmail or @yahoo sounds just as cool. :)

Ooooh..the game Eagle was playing was the x-men game thats in the arcades?! o_O I might have to download that...

Oh and Bob, beat NOLF2 last night. :)

I'm about half-way through NOLF2....I started playing Conflict: Desert Storm and got side-tracked. :)

Does anyone know anything about BloodRayne?

It sounds good, but I hate wasting my money on games that suck.

Zeus2182...why? Cause i'm big, and greek, so Zeus fits. My last name, what most of my friends call me, begins with a Z. and the 2182 is like my password for everything...i was born on november 21, 1982. and 112182 is just too damn long. I like my email, and i dont think i could ever get rid of it.

Now you're all free to send me emails...c'mon, go for it. You know you want to.

And before you ask, no, i'm not worried about putting my email addy out there...i trust you all, you're like my friends, as i said earlier, so i havent any doubt that i can trust you:D

Cibo, download it, its the BOMB yo. God i love that line.

My plan is to beat the whole game using each character. So diesle.

And i really really want Bloodrayne too, i just think the premise is awesome, so i might rent it before i buy it, but Gamepro.com says its wicked good, so i'm gonna go for it.

Rent it first for a week from BBV.

I have that rented right now. So far I'm not disappointed.

Thats all i needed to hear, i'm getting it for my birthday, i've decided.

Okay... I have a lot to reply to here (we've had like 3 or 4 different topics in one day... and I wanna comment on the lot okay? :p)

I can't listen to music to loud when playing Gran Tureismo. I tend to shift my own gears, and I never look at the needle, I always play it by ear. I tried having music on a little lower than the game sound effects and it did work some, but I found myself jamming to the music than paying attention to the road.
I'm the same with this... currently I have "Living Dead Girl (Naked Exorcism Remix)" by Rob Zombie playing... of course my head's bobbing away, I'm the same on the computer, just like on Sonic Adventure, when I died about 20 times in a row on the final boss... simply because I was too busy punching the air due to the great tuneage ^_^

nope not scared, grr i dont wanna go to work at 1pm today :(, as for wrestling games, i am waiting on smackdown 4, shut your mouth :p
I've heard (from my manager) that the game rules all sorts of ass :D.

For wrestling, my favorite game is still No Mercy for N64, just cause its so awesome. No game has even come close, especially none of the PS2 games. Too fast, they're more like Beat-Em-Ups then wrestling games.

Hear hear, that's exactly what I've said all along, the smackdown games are great for a quick multiplayer game... but if you want a GOOD wrestling game... grab one of the Nintendo THQ games. That's what a real wrestling sim should be like :).

Okay, no actual quote for this one, but on the subject of violence in computer game, I wish to repeat something Mick Foley has said in his book. It actually is about wrestling, but you can generally change it around, and this isn't an exact quote.

If the parents are going to let their kids watch wrestling and just say "any idiot can do that" little Johnny is going to go into the kitchen and come back with a broken leg, or have injured his mate because apparently "any idiot can do it", now had that parent sat down and said "While they arn't actually trying to really hurt each other, that is very dangerous, and it's not good to try" then that's better, if she mentions that every time these athlete get into the ring they are risking life and limb, she's telling them the truth, and making them realise how dangerous it is.

At the end of the day, the parents blaming wrestling for their kids behaviour (and the same can be said for anything, computer games, music, movies etc) are bad parents because they arn't spending the time with their kids to explain things to them.

In fact, (this is me, not Foley talking here, for the record) in my experience, I've turned out better than my sister, I was always hit when I did something wrong etc. my Sister gets shouted at... but is still constantly given money, hell she loses 2 phones in 6 weeks... and is STILL bought a new one, had I lost one, I'd have been shouted at, spanked, and not allowed to even ask about said phone until I was asked to write a christmas list. So either my parents care about me more... or they are actually just giving up on both me and my sister.

Yeah, HUGE ass list of games!!!! Know what sucks though? I've got a dial up 56k. <shaking head> i feel midevil over here. It took me like 15 minutes to download the X-Men game...i wanna get WWF Wrestlemania, but that'll take like 5 days. Its terrible, i'm gonna have to work on it though. I remember that game, the L.O.D. and like Hacksaw Jim Duggan and stuff are in that...i want it bad!!!

erm... you want a game bad because it has Duggan in it? He can't work dude! Now the arcade game I want is the one which was based on the tag team action, where you had the L.O.D. as tag team champions... and you could fight your way up to them, and there was also a royal rumble in there too :)

As for downloading, when i was at school, we had broadband, and it was INSANE. I've got so much porn on my computer.... Not to mention close to 400 mp3's. I'd be downloading even more if i had a faster connection

http://www.devilsblog.web1000.com/playlist.html

see that link? That's all my MP3's I've downloaded in 2 years on a 56k, ph34r me! I am the MP3 GOD to go through all that time on a 56k just for mp3s :)

and on the subject of AOL, I like AOL too, i can't afford Broadband, and AOL, as 56k's go... is pretty damned good for me. :)

Dude, Hacksaw is the MAN. I have Royal Rumble for Sega just because Duggan is in it. He's such a big oaf, he's my hero. Him and Hogan, the two proudest Americans ever. I still shout

"HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

At random moments. But any game with the LOD and Duggan is money.
