The video game thread

Hello all...wait...where'd everyone go?? Get back here and post more great game stuff...this thread is great and cannot die! The person who made this thread should get their own statue! Oh...wait...nevermind.
Only news from me is that Tony Hawk 4 is near impossible hard. I'm serious...I probably haven't played a game this hard since the original Contra-without codes!

Hmmm... I wonder if it'll be worthwhile for me to pick up the new PSX version of it then. :) (buy a PS2 when the game is out for PSX too... hell no :p)

I saw the vid they were playing in E3 on Golden Sun 2, and it looked awesome ! The summons really impressed me.

My GS1 team is set and ready for the next installement. I hope they made GS2 tougher though, I literally cruised my way in the first game.

Yes, its graphics are wonderful as well.

What I love to do is let the person go insane and see what happens. I loved it when Alex's (the star) head came off. That was cool.

Man...Cibo...I thought you were cool and all...but...did you just say wOOt?

There is NOTHING wrong with saying W00T!! :D.

It's the greatest word in a geeks vocabulary :).

Interesting post about the GameCube/GameBoy device. I wonder if it's just a ploy by Nintendo to sell more GameCubes. I must say that part of games like Golden Sun is that they're hard to show to friends. Lighting is poor, and they have to look over your sholder to view it, making the colors less noticible (I know about the afterburner and all those peripherals, but lets face it - not everyone has those). Showing off your latest title could be a bigger selling point.

Yeah, Golden Sun was pretty easy - but the length of the game wasn't it's selling point. Graphically it's something else (for a handheld) and has quite the storyline to boot. For example - what of the old dude at the end of GS who's trying to help you out? Certiantly he has an ulterior motive, but since GS2 takes place on an entirely different continent, what role will he play, if any? I see some big time conflicts going on in the last lighthouse come GS3.

Hey, does Eternal Darkness actually mess with your head, or does it just have the effect of "ok, here we go again". A game psych-ing me out isn't so easy.

lol, when you are crazy, stuff starts happening....

Your controller will stop working, the brightness, sound, video things will mess up, but sometimes the scariest things happen when you are insane so I let mine get that way. The only problem comes in when the monsters start sucking out your saneness, and if there isnt any, it sucks your health out instead.

Hey Eagle, only 2 more days till your boy Ken gets thrown a beating by Tito. Should be good.

Which leads me to the question of has anybody played either of the UFC games for X-Box or PS2 (each has one game)? They look pretty good but I haven't actuially gotton around to playing them.

Tell me he didnt just say that. TELL ME, he didnt just SAY THAT.

Kenny boy is gonna destroy Tito, you just wait and see. Tito isnt even gonna know what hit him, because he's never taken on anyone half as talented as Kenneth.

I played the UFC game for PS2, and while its fun from the get-go, it gets boring REALLY fast. I had a couple of buddies over who also are into the ufc and mixed martial arts, and we had a blast for a bit, but after they left, it was just terrible, so so boring. I'm glad i just rented it.

Ken is to old, to slow, and far to old school. I believe that Tito won't exactially walk all over Ken but he Tito should come out on top unless Tito slips up somewhere. But we will just have to wait and see.

Golden Sun was a great game....squeezing 20 hours of play rom an rpg handheld is no mean feat. I don't know if anyone completed it quicker than me, but I had everything by the time I'd finished. I can't wait for part 2! I've always expected the GBA to be compatible with the GC anyway, so it wasn't so much of the a selling point when I bought my GC. What sold me was the price, and the graphics. And I can't wait to get Eternal Darkness.
