The video game thread

It's official...

NHL 2003 has lasted a mere weekend at my place.

Good lord what a fustrating game!! Beautiful tic-tac-toe passing plays from one side of the rink to the other don't result in goals, but floaters from the blue line seem to always trickle in.

Tommorow I trade it in for some other Xbox game that I won't be tempted to throw as far as possible down the street and then I wait for the 15th when NHL 2K3 is on sale.

*covers my mouth and mumbles*

That's my all time favorite game. :D

SB...you can't make fun of me, I know you know what game it is.

blah...tonight is slow and boring.

No one lives forever 2 is good? I thought it looked interesting, but I hadn't talked to anyone that played it.

Ya, haven't had the real time to play it but beat the first 2 missions so far. Multiplayer online should be interesting, but I won't do that until I beat the SP.

C'mon people

The first page is the place to be, remember?
Pez's favorite game is the Oddworld series, by the way:p

Gee....I've praised it a few times in this thread :)

I like it a lot....try playing it in Co-Op mode...that's a lot of fun also.

Well it is a cool game...I mean you save the miners and um..you run around.

Okay okay, so the whole farting and slapping each other makes me laugh. Jeez....

Okay...

So...how about music in games? I know Trent Reznor did the music for one of the Quake games...I found a band I really liked, Apartment 26, from playing this kind of crappy PSX game. Anyone else?

Now this is something I'll have fun with, hehe. Everyone ready for another long Lord David list? Nope, well hard luck ya getting one anyways :p.

Carmageddon 2 (PC) - Oh come on, it has Iron Maiden, it HAS to own!

Sonic Adventure (DC) - As said earlier, quite possibly the best soundtrack in a game ever. :)

Of Light & Darkness (PC) - The song when you close the game down and go to the credits (called F. Death by The Millenium Fake Brothers, for the record :)) is great, sure it's rap which I'm not a big fan of, but this tune is rather good.

Vigilante 8 (PSX) - If you have the game, put it in a CD player, and if the first song showing up is the game, play track 8, if the game track doesn't show, play track 7. I love that tune :).

Unirally (SNES) - Don't tell me that you didn't have great fun bobbing your head to the music in that game when playing it :p.

Unreal Tournament (PC) - Not sure about the console versions of this, but the PC has some great tunes (some complete crap ones too, but still, hehe).

Command & Conquer + Red Alert series (PC + PSX) - Some of the music is quite good (i.e. the intro to Red Alert 2 just RULES).

Vs (PSX) - It had "Misunderstood" by Los Infernos... it got me into an excellent band... of COURSE the soundtrack ruddy well owns! :)

WWF Attitude (PSX) - Okay, so the game itself was piss poor, and at it's time, it wasn't bad... but the game engine was terrible, however the music in the game was great, it had clear themes, and a lot of them :).

Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 & 3 (SNES) - Just love some of the themes on there, some of the music I hated, but others I loved :).

Soul Blade (PSX) - Not sure if it's the same name in America, however the intro to this song, which is the only song I can remember in the game, ruled all in it's day (and I still listen to just that theme at times).

and finally...

Dance Dance Revolution (Arcade, PSX (American version)) - Okay... so in England we get stuck with "Dance Stage Euromix" or some crap like that which has stupid damned boy bands... I want the American version which has "Butterfly" by Smile.dk, I LOVE that tune!

Right, I think that's me done for now, hehe.

Damn, a game thread. And I didn't notice it.

:(

As for music, Guilty Gear X tracks....amused me for a while.

Just waiting for Vice City.
Heh, as well as Shinobi, Rygar, Contra......it's a good year for retro games.

It's on the very first Dance Dance Revolution game that was released in Europe around two years ago....I have it. Computer Exchange in Tottenham Court Road will probably have it. And I bought the dance mat cheap in Hong Kong too! :D

I'm sure you can download the song off Kazaa or something.

What do you mean....no codes??

Well, any cheats that do come out, i figure wont be out for a bit, am i right? i mean, it'll take a while for people to start to figure them out. Thats all i mean...with the initial week i'm gonna have the game, i dont think they'll be codes, but i might be wrong.

Know what i was thinking? How cool would a American Gladiators game be for one of the next gen. consoles? I can just see it now...first person perspective for "Assault", third person for "Atlasphere"...oh man, it'd be AWESOME

I suppose that's true. Doesn't really bother me...I only ever used the guns code anyways. And...I don't know about American Gladiators, but there is a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game coming out, alongside a new movie! How cool would that be on the new consoles?!
