LOL, I didn't actually pay so much attention to that as Cupid (or Eros in Greek) was a God that for some reason poets and artists prefer to depict as a youth or child/baby despite the legend of his trickery and subsequent marriage to and love for Psyche. Perhaps the tattoo artist only used such an image and the tattooee (?) didn't look at the appearance of the body but more so what it represents to him.

Damn I get tired of experts/academics on TV (or in other media) thinking the public is so ignorant they need the most basic words explained to them. I just came across one being interviewed about child development and schooling and she felt compelled to follow her mention of 'play' with an outlined explanation that 'play means children getting outside and playing games together, or even inside playing together and with toys'....duh, gee I never would have imagined that was what was meant by children playing. The interviewer had to fight hard to get a word in to move her onto talking about something a little more informative though she wanted to return to explaining even more what 'play' meant so people could understand better.
