DiPietro (the Isles goalie) made some incredible saves and robbed Dallas of at least 3 goals. He was hot!

Can someone explain this new system of getting a point for an overtime loss? The Lightning got one the other night. Who the hell came up with that brilliant idea? Oh, let me guess, Gary Bettman.tonitits said:

I totally agree with you Soron! I don't know what it is about the teams here. They are capable of playing well and some of the teams start out really strong and then don't do anything. My wish is that just 1 year that the Cowboys would win the Superbowl, they won yesterday btw, the Stars would win the Stanley Cup and the Rangers would make it to the World Series, I don't even care if they don't win it!, the soccer teams usually do pretty well. Mavs to go all the way! But I don't follow it as much. Wouldn't that be a city's greatest Christmas gift ever? to have all our major teams win the big games or at least get to that point???? I know I am dreaming, but there's nothing wrong with that!

It would be hard to do, Toni. I know it's been done a couple of times in two major sports, but I don't recall the sports or the city. We've got football, baseball and hockey here locally. I'd be satisfied if one of those teams would win every year. LOLtonitits said:

Last year, we had a shot. After the Super Bowl, the Lightning won the southeast divison and played New Jersey for the Eastern title in the NHL. And, we lost that, but at least the team we lost to, the Devils, went on to win it all.
I see the Stars got a tie tonight and the Lightning beat Washington after getting shut out by the stinkin' Panthers the other night.

The way I understand NHL point system...if the teams are tied at the end of regulation, they both get a point for getting to overtime. The Winner can get another additional point...go figure! I am not a big fan of it, because it IS confusing!
