The Sheltering Tree

I'm not sure this is the appropriate thing to do or not, so my apologies to all if its wrong. However, I saw the post below, by Omahaman2, on the "What Made You Smile Thread and I thought everyone in this thread would like to read it:

"GREAT BIG SMILE!!

Getting an email from tonitis today! Her son is improving quicker than they believed he would, so much that they moved him out of hospital to childrens house at Baylor's university. I believe that the childrens house is like the
ronald mcdonald houses. He is still having problems, especially with blod clots
in his legs and with his memory.

Another big smile is that she also now has a pc with internet and access to her email account where her son is now!

A third smile was she sounded upbeat!!"

:D :D :D :D :D

What great news!!!

Lets hope his improvement continues

JH Beat me too it!

Well He beat me to it, but I got an email from her myself and she said would I post her emails to everyone since she does not have the time to write to everyone or go on Lit...

So here are her emails......

Daniel is doing so well that they transferred us to Our Children's House at Baylor. It is a rehabilitation that is a home like setting. It is a hospital but it is in an old victorian type house and it is nice. I am not sure how long we will be here. I have access to the internet here and also my email. I had access to the internet but not the email accounts at Children's. I have a direct phone line to our room, there is another little boy in there, not private. But it is still nice.
Daniel is a little bummed. They found 2 blood clots in his legs yesterday and he is banned to bed, except for showers. But they started him on some meds last night so hopefully it won't be for long! Please tell everyone thank you for their prayers and thoughts and just pass my emails to the Tree Huggers... Thanks again!

There you go.. about the same thing as JH said but her words... if any of you want to say anything to her, send me a PM and I will post them all in an email to her.

Thanks JH for telling everyone!

No I am sure at his age or really anyone's age they would like to be in bed as long as he has been or will have to be but bit by bit and prayer by prayer, he is getting better...

Update

A couple of days I told you about a friend of mine who's boyfriend had penial cancer.
Here is her update from last Friday.

The surgery was today, and they think they got all of the cancer. They didn't have to amputate the entire penis... they took a little more than half. Hopefully he'll be able to look into reconstructive surgery after he recovers. time will tell. thanks for the prayers.

Keep them in your prayers... this has got to be very difficult on both of them and could end their relationship. Just has women have a hard time with having breasts removed because of cancer, men are the same when it comes to their penis. They feel less of a real man or woman when their sexual parts are removed. But they are doing wonderful reconstructive work today. But that still doesn't help with the mental part of it. Thanks again.

Update on Daniel

I just got this email and wanted to pass it on to you guys...

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give you an update on Daniel's condition and let ya'll pass it on to all interested parties. He is doing great. He is walking with a walker, he climbed a flight of stairs up and down the other day twice. He is still having problems with his cognative skills and weak. But doing great. After our care conference the other day the doctor started him on another drug to help with the cognative skills. They use it sometimes to help bring patients out of comas but can also be used to help with memory and cognative skills also. He is tentatively scheduled to leave here on July 27. They are also checking to see if my insurance will approve for him to go to a center here in Dallas, there are two here, for cognative skills. I asked the doctor if he would be ready to go back to school when it starts the middle of Aug. he said he would, but would require some special needs. If he is able to get into one of the cognative centers he will be enrolled in school there and then they will work with the transition from there to regular school. So he is doing great but still a long ways to go. Please continue to pray for us and his recovery. The doctor said that the sleep apnea may have caused to lack of oxygen to his brain which caused or contributed to his having the seizures and the lack of oxygen is what caused the cognative problems. He says that it is not expected to be back 100%. But maybe close to it. But I am still praying that he will make a full recovery and not have any problems. Take care and please pass this info to everyone. Hugs, Toni

That is great news.. but just like Toni... I am believein 100% recovery. How many times have we heard stories of people who doctors said they will never be 100% or they will never do sports again or walk again or see again.. and they do!

Thanks to all of you who have keep her and Daniel in your thoughts and prayers..and we will see them come through this... :D

That is great news. My thoughts and prayers will continue to go out for them both. The best news is that he is recovering, as long as one can see movement in a positive way it makes everything else little easier.

Yea JH I agree with you... and she also sent me another email and said to tell everyone THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PRAYERS AND THE THOUGHTS... THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO BOTH OF US.

So there you go...

And how much better can you feel than knowing you made someone else feel better

keeping Toni and Daniel in my thoughts and prayers daily.

*waving hi to all my fellow tree-huggers* ;)

Hey Jazey! How are you hon? Good to see you. Well it is not as active as the first tree was.. but hopefully it will grow. The first one took off like gang busters... was hoping this would as well. But hey... one positive thing is, maybe no one is going thru a hard time... so that is good... Nice when everyone is doing well.

Yanno, it took me a long, long time to overcome betrayal and hurt of the worst kind. From friends and then lovers. Resentment ruled me. That deep dark pit.
It will consume you if you let it. It almost did me. No love can live there, because love needs fresh air and sunlight, like a flower needs it.

Unconditional love may be something a lot of us have never known. Once you learn it, experience it, there's no going back. Life and love open up before you like a meadow of daisee's.

Thank you whspr for teaching me. :rose: I'll pass it on.

stopping through on my way to the shower.
Sending out prayers and good thoughts for all.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys.....I'm throwing out a plea for some prayers.

I have 2 situations that are totally beyond my control...one is financial, the other health. I am asking for PRAYERS to overcome this one hefty financial problem so I can keep a roof over my daughters head...the other, that the news I get from the Neurosurgeon is positive, so that I can go back to work, or at least be eligible for SSI or SSDI.

So if anyone is tossing up a few words to the "man" upstairs, throw a few in for me, will ya PLEASE??? I'm in trouble and could use his help.

Thanks all

Hon, you got the prayers... and there are things you can do that will help you keep the roof over your head. If you want to talk more about it, send me a pm.
Love ya hon and just keep holding on...

Enjoying the evening shade.
Sending prayers out for those who need.
Hoping everyone has a safe and fun 4th here in the states.
Keep our firemen in prayer. In just the last few minutes the alarms went off about 10 times - all firework related fires in a 4 city area - mostly volunteer firefighters. One has spread over about 10 acers and threating buildings.

Hugs to all
