• October 7th was a "prison revolt" against 10+ years of draconian conditions instituted by Israel solely to advance the political career of Benjamin Netanyahu, who needed the support of the Zionist ultra-right zealots to remain in power. The Hamas revolt was in no way, shape or form a "pogrom".
• The Israeli government response was a pogrom, masquerading under the guise of "hostage rescue". It may also be called genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass deportation and/or "killing fields".
• Israel deliberately targeted the civilian infrastructure in order to maximize deaths of civilians. Schools and day care centers are not valid military targets, all the kvetching about "Hamas arms depots" and "underground tunnels" notwithstanding.
• Any Jewish history prior to 1948 is irrelevant to this discussion.

I am most certainly using the word "pogrom" correctly.

October 7th was a rape, kidnapping and murder spree intended to derail peace talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Israel has not tried to “maximize civilian deaths”. The history of pogroms in Eretz Yisrael before the Jews threw off the colonial yoke and achieved self-determination in their homeland is definitely relevant to the discussion of the Palestinian Arab genocidal agenda.
