Eh, if municipal government there is anything like it is here, he's not really running it. He's just the puppet the consultants and wealthy contributors put in front of the camera while they raid the school boards, public employee pensions, and city budget.

I was so disgusted. And amazed by his bleating supporters. "He's a nice guy!", "It's a conspiracy against Rob Ford!", "He's saving us a lot of money!" I have a theory that there was some sort of singularity where alternate realities collided - - a few thousand people from the universe where Ford is a sober, hardworking, fiscally-responsible and respected leader ended up here and have been meandering at large, half mad and confused, chanting this shit.

Whenever I take a cab I ask the driver what he thinks of Ford's latest shenanigans and to a man they've all come out in support of him, (except for the cabbie yesterday, who furthermore wished more people would take public transit or bike to work in order to clear some of the downtown traffic and said he hates driving for a living, but does what he needs to do to make a living.)

I can't believe the bullshit this cavalier fuck is putting my city through.

I want to echo eve's points from before to keep this thread in perspective. While his behavior is ridiculous to the point of being comical, he's a monstrous person and a terrible politician who's deeply and negatively affected the lives of many people who live here and his choices and policies have actively hurt the city over and over and over again. It's not funny. He is a dangerous person and he needs to get the hell out of city hall.

Mayor Ford showed that not all Canadians are social democrat nutjob lunatics, not even in the greatest Canadian urban cesspool of all. Can you imagine an actual political conservative ever being elected in any of America's largest cities? Yet, in Canada, in the heart of loony liberal darkness on all of planet Earth, one was elected in its biggest city. That's an amazing accomplishment for Mayor Ford and a testimony to the rational majority who must still live there. The childish tantrums, mockery, and name-calling from the spoiled liberal children only proves the power of his political ideas strikes terror into their hearts.

The fact that he has personal failings is unfortunate, and if my opinion matters I certainly think he should resign, but that doesn't change the fact his policies appear to still be quite popular. Personal failings don't indicate a failure of ideas.
