The Living Works of Art Challenge

I want to get mine in before this special exhibition closes and the next show opens. In these, I think the Gaul is not so much dying as that trying to do the NYT puzzle (the same that stumped The Thinker) is killing him. As for other statues in the background, I'll leave that to my sometime art director, Icy. I should add that we models appreciate all the patrons of the arts that pass through, make comments, and even try to touch the artwork (but keep the defibrilators handy).

Challenge #6

Gentlemen, the next challenge was requested by one of our most avid patrons of the arts here at the museum. It is Apollo Belvedere (artist unknown):

Apollo has a long, lean, graceful physique, quite suited to several of our regular models, so we should get some excellent renditions.

Sorry HR, but I didn't run across a "back-door" shot, so you will need to use your imagination.

My contribution

Alas, I am not one of those long, lean, graceful models I mentioned. I would be better described as short and lumpy, but I soldiered on:

You are anything but short and lumpy. I am amazed at how well you got the drapes done.
Bravo on the artwork selection.

Oh, but I am proud of those lumps. It took a lot of work in the weight room to gain them. :D Yes, I am quite good with drapes . . . and carpet and paint. You have a room needing remodeling? ;)

You don't look short and lumpy to me. Beautiful pic!

Fantastic rendition and a more apt description would be muscular.

Complimenti JRP - as usual you have set the bar at a very high level, and the effects of your efforts to become fitter have become ever more apparent. Great effort!

We are often our own worst critics. Beauty is very much in the eyes of the beholder. Your rendition is phenomenal. You did a fabulous job with the drape. And you are neither short nor lumpy. You are real and that makes all the difference. Thank you for sharing.

OK, now you are all making me feel guilty for using the line "short and lumpy." I was trying to compare my body type to the statue in what I thought was a humorous manner, but you all took it as I was seriously lamenting my physique and now I've got you trying to reassure me.

Rest assured, I love my muscular physique and would not trade it for something Apollo-esque. Sometimes my attempts to be funny just miss the mark.

I adore you all for your concern, though.

Bravo on the artwork selection.

Thanks, Lizzie. I would be glad to come help you with your drapes . . . or carpet.

Thank you lovely LadyVer.

Yup, that's the look I'm going for. Glad you like.

Ah, HB, thank you, and I am sure you will rise to the bar yet again.

You are indeed sweet!

...I am in the fortunate position of being able to recruit my toga-clad woman in this one. Wait, surely they didn't have those in ancient Gaul?:D

Aren't we all simply slayed by your beautiful Numi...

Mmm, those legs. I smile to read all the appreciation they're getting on this thread. Great job with the pose. :rose::kiss:

Glad you got here in time, Glendale. Your turntable views are a perfect summary of the challenge. :rose:

Soldiered on with incredible attention to detail. That draping! BRAVO.
Looking good, JRP. :rose::kiss:

If all the soldiers looked like this, I'd join the Army. Very nice.

MsGD and I seem to be spending the day in the museum. My Apollo Belvedere is a Cardinal who, after a relatively rough season and another drubbing from the Cubs, has lost face and is now wearily leaning on a useless bat, wearing a towel around his neck, and pointing to the showers. As the Cubs used to say, wait till next year.

Brilliant - love the baseball bat too!

From an archer to a baseball player. I like the way you make it modern.

Very clever rendition of Apollo. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Looks like that Cardinal lives to play another day. Great job, Glendale. Thank you.
