The right wing pundits and their sycophants have made a big deal (big lie) out of the Capitol Police not being prepared for a known threat on J6. - But how well known was the ACTUAL threat???

The Capitol Police WERE prepared for the ANTICIPATED threats from some small fringe militant groups that they could go weapons free on if they launched an attack on the Capitol.

The Capitol Police WERE NOT prepared for the UNANTICIPATED threat posed by THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES hiding information from them about a planned march on the Capitol by a massive crowd including a variety of participants that the Capitol Police could not go weapons free on.

If THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES had informed ANYONE in law enforcement or Homeland Security about a planned mass march on the Capitol by the "yuuuuge"" rally crowd, Capitol security preparations would have been much different, or the rally would have been cancelled altogether. But of course, THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES didn’t inform those agencies, because it was a clandestine insurrection plot / attempt.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES hiding information from law enforcement and Homeland Security agencies about a planned mass march on the Capitol on J6 is more than enough to convict the treasonous orange POS.

I suspect that those in charge were perfectly well aware of the threat; I was, and I'm nowhere near DC nor do I get their intel (but I do see what idiots tell the world).

There were undoubtably some back-ups available that could have been deployed if absolutely necessary. If Pelosi or Pence had been murdered hell would have been unleashed.

Luckily wise heads saw the implications of what Trump was calling for. He wanted thousands of the National Guard deployed, not because he was frightened of his own supporters but because he wanted to declare a State of Emergency and have the military impose a shut-down of the hand-over process. That would have given him another whole term (possibly life) to rule as King, then handover the reins to Ivanka. Don the Even Dumber and Eric the Unwanted would never be regarded as leadership material.

The wise heads kept the NG out of the way and let the police control the day. Luckily that prevailed.

Trump was kept down in his bunker watching TV until even he could work out that he was fucked, then he came back out and told his goons to Stand Down. Everyone breathed again.
