The Isolated Blurt Thread XXIII: For Argument's Sake; Why Do Humans Feel Compelled...

I fall a little bit out of love with Amy Schumer every time I see her, lately.

I couldn't be bothered to sit through the whole movie. There were a lot of clever moments, but her character's schtick got really tiresome.

Maybe the unrated version is better, somehow.

i'll tell you this: i don't regret watching it, but it does feel just a bit too long.

and this cheerleader thing here is kinda dumb.

yeah, that was a terrible ending. still, it had brie larson being all pretty and fake pregnant and jokes that were funny most of the time. let's say 6.5 out of ten. the good side of mediocre.

also, brie larson. i really like her. hollywood needs to give her better shit to be awesome in. make it happen, assholes.

Well, all of this is coming from a woman (me) who got a level 4 stink eye last week for saying Adele's new song is kind of boring & not that great. I even qualified it by saying "compared to her other work", but that helped me none. I even further qualified it by saying her voice is, of course, impeccable. They all hate me now.

i sorta agree with this. i think the hype was built up due to her absence from the spotlight

if this song had come out on the heels of 'skyfall' i doubt it would've made such a splash

I agree, but it's futile to argue that right now. Years ago, I wrote an Onion-style piece (not published, just to amuse friends, which probably didn't happen) reporting that a federal law had been passed making it illegal to "not like Lauryn Hill." We're at that point with Adele.

It's already happened -- she's the star of the upcoming film version of Room. Lots of buzz.

I haven't seen Trainwreck either, and I thought Schumer's new HBO special was "just OK." The TV show is still as good as it ever was, though.

How would pornhub know my gender? How is it tracking this? The data seems interesting, but I'm just not sure how they know a person's gender when they're searching, or is it only tracking registered users?

I cannot believe my friend found my old mp3 player!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooofuckinghooooooo!!!!!!!! :nana:

Oh, you think they can't see you? :D

I assume it involves registered users only, but it's probably extrapolatable (is that a word?) to all users.

That graph goes exactly how I would have predicted, except maybe for the popularity of lesbian material among women. Although if Pornhub is anything like Lit, bi and bi-curious women might be overrepresented compared to the general public.

the last one.

which means it doesn't really mean all that much.

It is boring. And she doesn't really have a lot of range, musically or emotionally. And she shouts lyrics. She might benefit from listening to Barbra Streisand for a while.

sadly, not an american remake of room in rome, but happily not a remake of the room.

also, it has an 8.3 on imdb, and, damn, 96 and 86 on rotten tomatoes and meta critic, respectively. not that those scores mean i'll like it, but, hey, at least it means there's a better than average chance that it won't suck.

i might have to watch that fucker.
