sugar cream, here. pretty much the same thing as a buttermilk pie just with heavy cream instead of buttermilk. it's a hoosier thing. sadly, last time i made them (sooooo fucking easy) i put them on a cold baking sheet and then put that in the oven. guess what happened.

We do thanksgiving, even though its a long time since either of us lived in the states. But this year I think we are scaling back. It started when I said I was thinking a turkey was too much as it was just the two of us this year, and in the same vein I thought we should chose one type of pie. As we found it difficult to decide on pie I went further and suggested it would benefit me to not eat pie and it would not kill him, We're going to have a roast chicken with cranberry jelly instead of sauce, and sweet potatoes and green beans .

But then you said buttermilk pie and now I feel I should look into this.
