I found it to be shit. He still had 'em after two doses of it. I was moaning to the vet last week and she said Advantage is more up to date and sure enough a day or two later he was flea free.

i am not going to go around my house dusting seven everywhere. since the application yesterday, i have already seen less fleas. and it's not officially an outbreak. i want to nip this in the bud, before it becomes an outbreak. that's why treating the floors where eggs can be laid with DE is happening. i would never dust my animals with sevin dust. i feel bad enough about using medical grade formulas on them, but do so because i live in the south, where fleas and ticks are awful. during the winter months, i give them a break.

you say hippie like it's a negative and dirty word, when the truth is i just want to limit poison exposure to my family. you are using poisonous methods developed by big pharma to kill everything in site. the problem with that is it kills everything. not just the "bad bugs." long term effects can leave you brain damaged. i choose to try healthier alternatives. i am also not a rookie. living in the south, and a desire to not cohabit with creepy crawlies, i've run the gamut using different forms of pest control. i try to only turn to harsh chemicals in worst case scenarios, which gratefully have only happened once when a rotten tree fell next door, and there was a roach invasion. those fuckers were gassed out.

Well thats good to hear. Im glad I don't live down south.

My yard and home is where bugs come to die. Actually it's been years since I've seen a bug that didn't fly past my chemical perimeters but even they didn't last long.

Couple times a year I hose my entire yard down with Bifenthrin. Lawn, trees, shrubs, walks, entire house, dog pen, under the decks and porches.

Front to back top to bottom.

I let live too though. Theres a huge I mean huge basketball sized paper wasps nest fifteen feet from my back door on the neighbors eave full o' bees but they dont bother me and I held a can of liquid death for bees in my hands a my supplier today and said na. If they bother me or the doggies though. Theyll be bee soup.

I'll fire up my tree sprayer and blow them to hell at 600 psi with some mystery mix.

I use the cheap brand. Called Zodiac here. The stuff they sell for the poor people who cant afford 75 dollars for frontline or Advantage.

I get good control but I also limit flea exposure by treating around here.

Fleas be gone!

I haven't seen a flea in ten years.
 
i don't know whether frontline works or not because he didn't have fleas before we started treating him and he still doesn't have fleas so...maybe? he's an inside dog though and we don't go into the woods or anything. if he starts getting fleas i'll switch tho!

Check out the Zodiac brand Beeg. Much cheaper than the big shots and especially if you're just maintaining an indoor dog deal.

It's like 15 dollars for like four doses or some such crap.

They sell it around here, there.

Advantage is a fiver and you need to do it every 4 weeks.
 
i had such a horrible morning. went to bed last night and woke up 2 hrs later with a pounding migraine. popped some pills only to barf them up 20 minutes later and then spend the next several hours lying on the bathroom floor queasy nauseous and heart pounding like a jackhammer. i wanted to dieeeeee


now i've finally stopped being nauseous and i'm hungry and the thought of food makes me want to cry
 
i want to snark so badly, and it's such a good snark, but so mean. i am trying to control the flow of my negative energy. *sigh* i should go chant or something until the snark releases itself back into the universe.
