I've had "Send Me an Angel" stuck in my head for several days now, except that it sometimes turns into "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night".

So there's that.

Stop talking about babies cos ole Crusty Knackers will be in shortly spamming dead ones and then I'll have to break out Cecil.

A interesting perspective.

MY mind was absorbed by the biochemistry of gene editing when the text messages and Facebook posts distracted me.

So sorry about Cecil.

Did Cecil live near your place in Zimbabwe?

Cecil who? I wondered. When I turned on the news and discovered that the messages were about a lion killed by an American dentist, the village boy inside me instinctively cheered: One lion fewer to menace families like mine.

My excitement was doused when I realized that the lion killer was being painted as the villain. I faced the starkest cultural contradiction I’d experienced during my five years studying in the United States.

Did all those Americans signing petitions understand that lions actually kill people? That all the talk about Cecil being “beloved” or a “local favorite” was media hype? Did Jimmy Kimmel choke up because Cecil was murdered or because he confused him with Simba from “The Lion King”?

Eyer has a village boy inside him? Fucking sick cannibal bastard.

When a cat speaks, it’s because it has something to say, unlike humans who are the great refuse containers of speech.

Why do I volunteer to do what I have worked so hard to not have to do? 5 more minutes behind this desk. If it was longer than that no one would be safe.

Probably not the best idea to get some rich pasta on this squicky stomach I have had today.

But when has that ever stopped me?

Zumi - Rouge Nation was totally worth seeing at the IMAX! We went to a matinee (because we're on vacation and can) and had the theater almost to ourselves! Perfect birthday celebration! I think I liked it better than Ghost Protocol.

Yeah, I probably should've waited for IMAX, but the showtimes didn't align up right and I needed to see it right then and there. Still, the movie holds up even in basic viewing mode! :D

Sure, it's been over 30 years, but I think it's about time we got a sequel to Krull. But retcon it so that Liam Neeson survived and make him the star.
