earlier today i got to witness a wonderful thing: a pedant being a cunt for no damned reason while her victim calmly let it all slide. if it had been me i'd say 50/50 chance i'd would've told her to go fuck herself and i'm not an aggressive kinda guy. seriously, correcting a dude's accent not once but three times while you're working behind the counter at a gas station? not exactly wise. not in a "know your place" kinda way either 'cause that's bullshit. no, it's more in a "you're working a job where no one respects you and there's a more than fair chance your dumbass might get shot just because you're in control of a few hundred dollars of untraceable cash so maybe you shouldn't be going out of your way to make people hate your dumb ass" kind of way.
