So I started the 1985 BBC TV series Edge of Darkness last night.

Copper’s 20 year old daughter is accidentally killed by a ruffian. Copper is distraught. He snoops around his dead daughter’s bedroom, remembering her etc.

In a drawer he finds her dildo. That he then kisses.

Woah! On mainstream TV in 1985?!

Did TV become sanitised or was this out there even then?!

There were some wild programmes around then, as per 'Bouquet of Barbed Wire' and the sequel, 'Another Bouquet'. By the end of that, just about every character had screwed every other character.
