Um...ok? Ssssure, whatever you say.

*backs slowly out of whatever room Norway is in*

Is there a statue or a trophy of some kind when you win the Nobel Prize?
And if so, which country gets to hold it?

I say give it to Finland. Finland is cool.

How many times has Germany invaded France since the formation of the EU?

Do the math. That has to count for something.

No nation is sovereign if it doesn't control it's own currency. That's the fatal flaw in the EU, which will lead to its collapse.

No charge for that peek at the future.

Given the shape of Europe after 1945 and since? Yeah, it's valid.

Obama

2009 - Peace Prize
2011 - Bin Laden killed. Drone attacks on Pakistan.
2012 - Libya and Syria.

EU

2012 - Peace prize, Greece in flames, Spain teetering.

2013 onward - ?

Probably part of a push to get the Norwegian public to give up their national sovereignty and join the freedom trampling multinational bureaucratic hydra themselves.

You don't need the European Union, a la post-Maastrict Treaty, to prevent wars. You could have a loose European Community like it was called before Maastrict, if you even need anything at all (doubtful there would be any more major European wars regardless anyway).

Don't talk about Maastrrict as if you know what you're talking about, alt, because you don't.

I was living in France when they had the referendum on it. I went to a rally against it. Haven't followed EU developments much since the mid-90s but I do know a bit about the Maastrict Treaty.

Maybe 4-6 decades ago.

Next up, give it to the United States for not having another civil war.

My relatives in Austria and Switzerland are happy enough with the Eurozone.
Most of them have businesses that have profitted handsomely since the currency came in and the cross-border trading laws were relaxed a little.
They know that the Euro has made everyone a lot more inter-dependent, and are adopting a wait-and-see approach.
