I've missed like three themed contests since I joined Literotica.

Elfin is off the beam on this. At least she's consistent in that. She, in fact, hasn't posting anything to Literotica for nearly six years--not just to the contest--anything. So, on her own accounting, she shouldn't be posting to this thread at all (or making posts to the larger forum, actually--following her own reasoning). :D

One of the stories, "Candy to Candy" appears to be missing from the master list. Maybe it will make the list tomorrow?

Hmm... May be worth sending a PM to Laurel on the author's behalf if it doesn't show up on the contest page by tonight. It certainly appears to be a contest story, considering the placement.

A fun addendum to Elfin's last attack on me on this thread: Chances are very good that I will post nearly twice the number of actual stories to this contest alone that Elfin has posted in total to Literotica in the last seven and a half years. :D

Can you spell c-r-a-z- y?

Are you now an alt of BFW/little ralphie? Scouries will be on your case with a vengeance if you post all those stories. I didn't know you now go for quantity not quality but I can fully understand.

I've already posted in several places that I'm going for "in Scouries's face" with my Halloween contest postings, Crazy Elfin (and you haven't seen anything yet--the next one is Loving Wives and the one after that Nonerotic). As usual, you haven't kept up and you are poisoned by your vitrol.

It's so like you to declare the stories lack quality even before posted. I invite others to comment specifically on that as they post.

I'll predict you won't even be permitted a hair shirt before the contest is over. :D

So I am a little confused guys......

The A.I.R. contest is the only one with a minimum and maximum word count and a requirement as to sex acts in the content???

The only rules I saw were the official rules-which only requires a strong theme within the story........

?????

Thanks !

The "A.I.R" contest doesn't exist. It's nothing more than a vehicle for a troll to promote himself, associate his name with successful authors, attack the website, categories, and authors he doesn't like.

The official rules are the only rules that matter.

Ignore any "rules" the poster presents -- and to enhance your overal enjoyment of Literotica -- ignore the user and his alt as well.

There is a minimum 750 word count for all Literotica stories. I sometimes write 50 word stories. I put 15 of them in a single submission to produce the required 750 word minimum requirement (15 x 50 = 750 and a few more words for the titles and my copyright notice). Otherwise I would have to submit them as 'poetry' and 'poetry' isn't eligible for the story contests.

The theme? It can be a Halloween story IF you say it is and put the contest details in the Notes box, BUT unless there is some real connection with the theme the votes are likely to be either few, or low-rated.

The A.I.R contest is dangerous bullshit. No one except scouries and his alts can enter it; no one can vote for it. The repeated publicity for the fake A.I.R contest confuses newbies who might believe the ridiculous nonsense.

Well, I still don't see "Candy for Candy" on the contest page, so I sent a PM to Laurel, as I'm fairly certain it's an oversight. No sense in the author losing the residual reads and votes from the contest page if it can be prevented.

Finally!

Okay! I finally started writing a halloween story! 1000 words in...good start. Working title is "The Pastor gets Confused". That will change though! Whooohooo!

2600 words into my second and rolling right along. I was going to start working on the edit for the first, but this one is going so well at the moment that I don't want to break the momentum :p

Don't know what happened with me yesterday but I didn't write anything. Would have broken 3k word count if I had. Going to try and write the next bit today. I'd like to now but sleep is beginning to call to me again and I don't think my brain could handle trying to write a story right now.

This is a good warm up for me, though, for November. That's when the real stuff starts. Doing National Novel Writing Month again and though I may be a rebel this year, I'm still doing it. I'm a rebel in the challenge this year because I'm not starting a story from the beginning. I'm using this NaNoWriMo as a chance to FINALLY finish a novel. So, when I'm done with November I'll have over 100k written. Already got over 50k and just gotta write 50k more in 30 days. I get it done in 25, though since I do 2k a day.

Awesome! I'm about 30k into a fantasy novel myself. Maybe I could use that to help me? How does it work? and good for you!

For the rules you can just go to: www.nanowrimo.org

Basically you just have to write 50k words in the 30 days of November and they have to make an actual story. Like, you can't just write one or a few words 50K times.

If you're just going to participate in order to finish a novel, then you're considered a rebel since the idea is to begin a new novel. You can still put your word count up so it shows on your author profile and if you want to, you may still validate at the end of November to win.

The past two years the winners get a gift certificate for a free manuscript of their novel from a site called Createspace or something. I never used mine because I could never finish the novel. The certificates do have an expiration date.

And it would definitely help get your novel towards the end if you're having trouble just sitting down writing. Since there's a sort of prize at the end then it kind of makes you want to write.

Also! If you visit the forums you can put in your region on your author profile and there will be a forum just for your region. You can go in and chat with other NaNo'ers in your area and even attend some of the meet-ups and write-ins.

My region is without an Municipal Liaison again this year so I and a friend will probably sort of head up where to meet and all that. And last year we didn't get to do a write-in because none of us had a space big enough for that. A write-in is usually a lock-in where we bring what we use to write with, some snacks, and have a all nighter trying to make a dent in our novels.

Now, really, the word count you have to get each day in order to win by the 30th (if you start on the 1st) is 1,667. I aim for a solid 2,000 words per day. It's easy and if I can do it, that gives me 5 days to either not write or 5 days to get more words in if I feel like it. Two-thousand words is somewhere around 2 or 3 pages on Microsoft Word with point 10 or 11 size font with everything in regular format (meaning that the paragraphs aren't double line separated).

It's a really fun thing to do each year and even more fun if you get to know those participating in your area. I've won 2 out of the 3 years I entered. I lost my first year back in 2006 because I did slack a bit and then the night it was ending I had to go to work. My boyfriend at the time would not let me call out just to win it. I was short by 3,400 words by the time we had to leave for work at 10:50pm November 30th.

I just don't know if I am gonna make this one or not!
Last year I tossed out three, and this year... my creative juices have turned to dust. :(
Maybe I just need to carve some pumpkins and listen to spooky music and watch a scary movie. Get the muse rolling. Hmm.
Let's hope I can get a move on. Halloween is my favorite! :D

The weather has turned nice and I can't stay off the new motorcycle long enough to do any writing.

LunaEroticaMystica, are you going to post the Jersey Shore story for the contest? It is so good. I know you have physical issues; thoughts and prayers that you can overcome them.

Wrote 3,000 words into what will be contest entry #5 today. (An Interracial one--#2, a Loving Wives one, should post any hour now). Unfortunately, that meant I didn't tend to my editing business schedule, so it's going to be a late, late night for me again.

Got another 1000 words in on mine. Almost to the point where I feel confident that it will be done in time.
