Mine's set in another world that doesn't have an actual Halloween, but instead a similar one pinned more upon older traditions. It's recognizable, but different. Readers don't seem to balk, as I've done it before a few years back.

The second one I'm working on is set in the same world.

I'm back from work but i had very little time to write and what writing i did was on a new novel for mainstream.

I do have one story ready but it will be posted so our troll can't find it. The same way I did one story in the last contest. It didn't place but the score was more like old times before he started trolling everyone who post a contest story and posts in the AH.

This should drive him crazy and break his fake alt detecting computer.

Not that it matters much, he has me on ignore.

Well it’s Thursday and now I’ve got even more work! The second retard is back which will double my workload. Mind you the pays good so what the hell.

My aunt’s philosophy is that if you’re going to pee in our pool you better expect that someone is going to pee in yours! The QUEEN was invited to solve this quietly with a few words to the offending parties but so far she’s chosen not to.

If you’re new to this thread and can see this post let me just explain: three AHers, the dumb texan, misshick and miss odious have seen fit to repeatedly post the following (and other similar garbage) on various of the ScouriesWorld threads. We will return the favor as long as they continue their silly actions. Today’s come from the the texas panhandle … I will try to spread it around the threads so there’s not too much on any one thread… and of course I'll pay especial attention to their enablers…

Instead I will be using some fae creature. Fairy, elf, troll, brownie, leprechaun, banshee, goblin, etc.

It'd be more urban fantasy and that I can do. I haven't written much of that but I can do it better than just plain fiction, which is pretty much what my ghost idea was but with sex added to it.

With a fae creature I can give it some spice and the sex scenes will come out much better.

Now...which creature do I want to use...hmm.

Leprechauns might be interesting... they grant wishes. Lots of potential there.

One of my ideas is fae-inspired too, but don't worry about me ripping you off... I'm going way darker and edgier than what it seems like you're doing, mine is actually a bit on the Lovecraftian side now that I think about it. Wonder what it would be like if Lovecraft wrote porn?

Yeah I doubt anyone would rip me off right now seeing as I don't even have the slightest inkling of a plot.

I'll be submitting to the sci-fi/fantasy section and not non-human. I like my stuff to have more of a point than just sex.

I should probably write it in first person, too. I seem to find that the few first person things I do seem to come out way better than my third person. Maybe it's because I don't have to worry about writing out tons of action? Don't know.

But yeah, the plot has yet to come to me. I was going to try getting something written down like a sex scene today, but my day was just all sorts of screwed up what with having to get up after 6 hours and then being in town for around 7 hours and seriously needing a nap. Blah. And now I'm getting tired again since it's 4:17am and I've been up from my nap for about 5 hours. I need to go and read to my baby before I get too tired to do so.

Okay, okay. It suddenly hit me that I could use this little piece I wrote for a prompt week last year for this contest.

The piece is super small and I can add to it, creating a pretty decent story. It'll be easy to incorporate Halloween in the story, too.

The prompt week was something I came up with on another site I used to frequent. The last one we had, on day 6 the prompt was to use one of each or one from on list or the other to write a little piece. The lists were the seven sins and the seven virtues.

I went searching for stuff on the two things and came across some very interesting stuff for lust. So I went with that.

Now I'm just going to continue the piece and fit some sex in there lol.

With this one...I'm not sure where I'd put it. It might do better in Erotic Horror if I feel like sticking in some mutilated bodies. The chick in the story gets to see each and every man she's ever dated and ones she even begins to like killed in a really horrible way. But then I could put it in Non-Human since it kind of revolves around a demon. I'm not sure if I want to give this one a completely happy ending, so the woman would have sex with this demon. We'll see!

Don't see new stories or the contest page up yet, so I guess it will be morning before the kick-off.

Probably start editing and putting a few dashes of spice on Harvest tomorrow. It's been sitting for a few days while I wrote on other things, so I should be in a position to cold read it. I'm going to try to aim for Thursday, if all goes well.

Working on Flesh, and its beginning to come together. Unless I hit some major snag, it should make it about mid submission period.

While trying to work on the recent idea I had something hit me and I opened a new document and began writing.

My brain suddenly fired into gear and I'm now actually writing about the first idea. I don't really want to stop right now because I feel like if I do, it won't come out right later, but I've been writing for an hour and think I need to give my brain a break. But I have the next bit in mind! Woo!

Sheesh, 5 pages.

It's totally cheesy but I'm calling this piece Possession. The title works for so many reasons.

I've finished one story I'm submitting in non-human, involving a curse, Celtic gods with a sense of humor, and a ghost, but I've been debating on another.

Aliens often seem to get left out of paranormal happenings. Not all the time but it's not so easy to find. Any thoughts if that means it's a bad idea?

I was going along so well with mine and then got into a flare-up and fog. Now I'm having a hard time focusing. I LOVE Autumn, but the seasonal/weather changes don't agree with my body (or my character's) well. See what I can get done this weekend.

Bashing Head on Keyboard

Ideas aplenty. Courage regained after a twelve year hiatus. I gave up on Summer Lovin' and turned my attention to October back in August.

The words are flowing. I find myself flipping between seven different documents, adding, correcting, and pruning for a month. I toss an idea for a story from the house's point of view in the "some other time" basket and go back to something I have read for (mumble mumble) years and write what I know.

I read the forum and submission guidelines repeatedly in between frenetic bursts of creativity. I finally have something finished.

And realize my brain went on a two week vacation two years ago and hasn't returned while trying to find the submission button on the User CP.

All together now. One. Two. Three.

"What kind of idiot ARE you, Acktion?"

Ah well. I guess more study is needed. Kudos to the ones already posted and encouragement to the ones still working. I give up.

Yes, Lit gives priority to contest entrties. They get fast-tracking and high-ranking on publication.

Since sr hasn't entered a contest in this century he is poorly equipped to opine on the mechanics.
