Normal pH for seawater off the coast of the Pacific Northwest is around 8.2. When upwelling happens...it drops to 7.2. How much HCl must we dump in the ocean to get an equivalent drop in pH as we are seeing caused by the upwelled water laden in CO2? Lets assume the water volume is limited to 500 miles of coastline (804,672m), out about 20 miles (32186m)...and goes to a depth of 200m. I know that 1 drop of HCl will lower the pH of 100mL of DI water about 4 units. There has to be a conversion page somewhere where you type in volumes and the answer pops up.

I imagine, and that's a pretty wide statement, steam has a varied temperature range and while yes, the lower temperatures are likely to form condensation, but perhaps, and I'm going out on a limb here, high pressure might stop condensation, thus keeping it in a gaseous state. Thereby allowing the water vapor to sublimate from a gas directly into a solid (ice) or perhaps, the high pressure stops any transition at all and allows the gas to remain a gas even below it's freezing point?
