PS. Isn't "Mobile home" something of an oxymoron ?
"You might be a redneck if... your house has wheels and your truck don't." --J.Foxworthy

They took the wheels off my home but the axles remain. In my world are 'modular' or 'manufactured' homes, usually triple-wides that are factory-built, highway-hauled, and site-installed. The somewhat 'mobile' homes are single- or double-wides that can conceivably be hauled elsewhere. Then we have mini-homes, and travel trailers and fifth-wheelers that can be as large as apartments and are often infested with full-timers.

None of those are self-powered. More than a few big Greyhound-bus-size motorhomes spend most of their lives immobilized but I guess they're the epitome of "mobile home". Some include garden gnomes, oy.

What, it's midmorning already? Better brew up some more depresso, that's decaf espresso.

Dual citizenship? What are you up to now, Mr. Bear?

Depresso, decaf espresso. I like that. :D

It's easier to buy investment property in the EU if you are a citizen. Be a citizen of one EU country and you're a citizen of all of them. I have this sneaky 'in' . . .

Managing investment properties even at moderate distances, three or four hundred miles is a big headache. Tried that. At the distances you are speaking of, it would be a massive headache unless you have someone local you can trust enough to be a middle man. But then again, it is all according to what type investment property you are talking about. Mine was rental, both business and living space.

I had a similar problem after my Mum died, leaving me a nice bungalow only 200 miles away.
Note:
For the benefit of readers in the USA,
I should point out that distance is a trifle more problematic over here.

Hopefully I don't jinx it, but I'm actually writing again, and I like what I have so far.

Thank you. I occasionally coin words. A couple weeks ago I came up with a label for the sort of legal official POTUS despises: RECUSE-NIK. Clever, yes?

Meanwhile it's up early tomorrow for more medical stuff. Eye tests, then the MRI, the ultrasound, and maybe the leeches. Will strong coffee hurt them?

That brings to mind the vampire thang of biting someone zapped on drugs including alcohol, stimulants, depressants, hypnotics, euphoriants, anti-psychotics, date rape, etc. How fucked-up will vampires (or leeches) get?

Hmmm, what's that noise outside? [/me goes to front porch, peers out] Well damn, that WAS a brown bear chasing a black dog down the gravel road. There goes the neighborhood...

Watch out for local taxes and charges Bear, they can be eye-watering. I had a bad experience with them in France. Ireland isn't too bad and has low prices - but much rain, excepting the South east corner. We have a small place in London and the rates (local taxes) are pretty stiff, but capital appreciation has been excellent. Italy and Spain are outrageous - it's what is not in the small print that counts.

I have dual citizenship based on UK birth - might lose that with Brexit.) Kinda surprises me that a lot of UK residents haven't applied for an Irish EU passport. The English and Scots have always fought with the Irish but they have bred with them even more! Thus Granny's origins might yet be an asset.;)

Re: coffee.jpg

Chloe, I don't know where you find these pix, but that one is a gem.

If anyone need some 'gentle rain' we got lots to spare.
Can't you just tell it's August in England ?

Time for coffee, I think.

Uh, yeah, what he said, it's Toesday alright. I'm wiggling them.

Sorry, HP but We've already got light rain that sometimes burst out into heavy rain.

Fresh coffee coming up.

There are international consortiums who handle rentals for absentee owners. My lady has worked with them very successfully. Besides, sometime being a country squire in the Isles has its appeal.;)

What time do new stories go live? Is it like midnight Eastern time?

Up until the last time change, they pretty regularly went up between 1:00 and 1:30 a.m. Eastern time. I don't see that close a time frame now. Today's stories were up at 12:15 Eastern time. That's when I saw that my today's offering appeared. I don't know how long it already had been up. It hits the various lists at widely diverging times, in addition. I see it first on my page, then on the category hub page, and only later on the "New" list.

B-b-but Chloe. It's Tuesday.

Ah; you noticed the Time Slip, did you ?

I suspect your rain is somehow related to ours: Occasional Heavy Showers.
But I'll take a Tea at this time of night, please.
