That was only 5.5 hours ago and I've been up for an hour with only 6.oz of low-test in me. I'm so tired... and it'll be a long day. Refill that Celadon cup and see if it takes effect.

I read myself to sleep with a big etching-illustrated UNICEF / Facts On File book, Musical Instruments of the World. For inspiration, of course. I've already thought of building a cigar-box lyre -- and it's been done, but without an Erector set. Now I'm fantasizing a cigar-box sitar, but not like what's been done, mostly buzzy guitars. No, mine would be a hollow soundbox-neck with cigar-box resonators at each end, sympathetic strings, the whole thang.

Then it would be a cigar-box xylo-zither. Or cigar-tube xylo-zither? Damn, what would that cost me? And I'd have to smoke all those cigars! Better to cut PVC piping instead. And I'm set on a sitar. Who knows, I might even build one someday.

Yesterday was supposed to be the long, venturesome day. Then my partner slept till noon, leaving little time for long drives and extended browsing. We'll do that today if the alarm clock allows. And if coffee impels.

It has been interesting around here to say the least. It started raining about ten yesterday morning and rained until five this morning. The power went off shortly before noon yesterday and was off almost five hours. The internet was down until about a half hour ago.

It think it will be time for a nap shortly. At least the cat thinks so.

It's bright and clear here, and crisp with many hot air balloons. I got quite a bit of writing done on my dirty little ghost story last night, and a little more done this morning before work.

Just enjoyed a brisk walk over the the university's Student Health Center. Long story. Nice walk. If college girls ever get any common sense about the clothes they wear then trips like that will be a lot less entertaining.

I mean, it was breezy and 44 degrees and this very pretty, long-haired brunette walked by in hip-hugging stretch jeans and a cropped top. I didn't run into a lamp post or anything. I congratulated myself.

We don't have a college in this one horse town. We do have a State park with a pool and several miles of beach front and head walls. Lots of bikinis, bikini tops with shorts, sundresses. On the weekends, Holidays, it is a nice place to sit in the shade and watch the sunset. Yeah, sunset.

We ended up with 4 inches of rain in about 18 hours. Having coffee on my lawn would be a wet proposition. The wild flowers are almost knee high in places. A beautiful sight.
