<Sits patiently at the table with hopeful expression on face. . .

Since Laurel usually don't post stories on Sinday, you may have to have
a nap before the story is up.

For now there is fresh coffee and a fresh kettle.

I got a couple or three thousand words done this morning, along with some irrigating, then some errands in the afternoon and the lawn got its second mowing of the year.

I put my feet up in front of the chiminea for a while and realized that I felt more tired than I should. I'll just finish this glass of wine and go to bed.

Is legally brunette a crime?

It's that time of evening. All cats are black at night, even those not here, which is all of them. Neighboring dogs have shut up; I guess the squirrels have quit tormenting them for now. Bears aren't back yet, and it's too early for mantids. Life is slow.

We're amidst lawsuit negotiations. They suck. Lawyers are working over the weekend, racking up more billing hours, and threatening to call (on our landline) with latest offers in the morning, so we can't go down to Drytown for Easter rabbit stew. Life is so unfair. BTW the suit is over my partner's mother's wrongful death. Yes, nontrivial. I'll denounce some nursing home operators when I'm free to.

Coffee in the morning before and after the lawyers torture us. Wine until then.

Stupid leg cramp woke me up. Coconut water and Advil in. Now, do I dare try to record the story I want to for a contest and risk waking my daughter up? Not sure how quiet I can be and the other side of the house is not very far from her room.

Good Luck with that.

Good Morning, Mags,
Just a thought, you understand, but - 'pencil & paper' ?

Time I got my coffee. . .

Well how's this. Minus 9 C, feels like minus 15. Winter Storm Warning from 6pm this evening. Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Monday.

Well, at least my commute is VERY early morning this coming week and I'M putting my car in the garage tonight. Right against the back wall so I can get a flying start to get out the driveway without shoveling (she says hopefully, coz shoveling snow at oh dark thirty is no fun....). Hit that snow fast enough.....

Or maybe not..... :D

And it was so nice a few days ago.... I could even see the grass. Guess that bikini's going away for a while

And I'm going back to sleep, that was too scary

Snow? Are you sure that's not an Aprils Fools joke? It has snowed here as late as April 9th if I remember correctly. Something like six inches and then poof, it was summer.

Fresh coffee for the morning crew. Welcome to Super Sinday and April's Fools Day all in one. We're getting cheated out of a holiday somehow or the other.

There is hot oatmeal for those that need something extra. I'm having mine with some fresh ground cinnamon and sugar.

Well, it's for an audio contest so I'm not sure how well they would take to a handwritten entry. :D

Unfortunately, since no one else was up, the cat kept assuming I was talking to him and responding.

Cats are weird that way. :D Maybe you should have written him a part.

In 1947, one of Britain's coldest winters, I helped to make a snowman on April 30th.

Back in the 1970s my wife and I went on holiday to Snowdonia in mid June. On some of the rural roads we were driving on snow.

Ha, that would make too much sense, I don't have much of that at 1 am.
If your cat won't talk to you at oh-dark-thirty hours, who will?

Miracle! We're both up early! With coffee! Now we can lallygag all morning again awaiting bothersome but necessary phone calls. We might even be awake. Weather: sunny but cooler. Atmosphere: it's a burn day in the county, so numerous smoking woodpiles will poison us; no strolling.

Sad news: No fabulous Easter dinner with the kids in San Francisco. Happy news: Because their house deal closed and they're moving RIGHT NOW to a country place in the mountains not too far away. Room for the grandkids to roam, away from city streets. And an RV pad so we can stay over to play grandparents. The housewarming party will be great.

I can't help it. I need another quadruple espresso. With cocoa.

with cocoa ?

I'll have mine without, please

Try my old high school recipe for "Black Sea Coffee" - a conjunction of Russian and Turkish. Bring your espresso grinds to a boil directly in water. turn the heat down and let simmer 2 or 3 minutes. Repeat twice. Strain and serve sweetened with chocolate syrup and topped with whipped cream.

I got another thousand words down, but now I'm off to the family thing. Maybe I'll get to write some more later, but probably not.

This draft is going to need a lot of re-working before it's done. I've edited my most recent stories as I wrote so there was little lag between the time I got to the end and the time the story was done. I haven't done much editing on this one. There's going to be a delay after I finish the draft before it goes anywhere.

I just watched a netflix movie. I don't do that very often but I found a free (pirated) movie site that seems free from hazards so... Part way through i realized it was a remake of an old Rod Serling, Twilight Zone show. Was it better? The special effects were. The story more detailed and drawn out. The old version was in black and white as I remember.

Yeah, it was better in ways but the same story with the same moral.

Fresh coffee for the evening crew. Even a kettle for HP's evening tea.

This is One Of Those Days. Morning coffee only kicked a little so I crawled back in whilst my partner delivered an in-law's b'day gift. Then the attorney called right at tea-time on Easter fucking afternoon. Negotiations ensue.

Now I sit across the house quietly fingering my 8-string tenor taropatch 'ukes, both my first like a wee tiny 12-string guitar, and the new mandola-strung Mand'uke. A custom mandolin and pro guitar sound better but these are appropriate for gentle lounging. And they fit my hands just right.

Ooh, sounds deadly! We lack only syrup; we'll fix that tomorrow. But not Nestle.

My espresso-machine version of that is: just enough water in the cooker and a big cup under the spout, with whipped cream, sugar, and cocoa already in. The quadruple espresso juice drips down; mix and slurp.

A couple weeks ago I finished off the odd Thai coffee with rice and maize corn. Our recent foray to an Asian grocer tempted but frightened me: Jasmine coffee? Ginger coffee? Gingko coffee? Dragon-fruit coffee? Dare I?

I await volunteers for the Dragon-fruit coffee. Stop on by. Bring donuts.

No joke. Starting in an hour. Winter storm warning blah blah blah and snow off and on through to Thursday. Yikes. Better sleep early tonight!

Mid 70s, Leeds.
June 4th, AND IT SNOWED.

It's all gloom & Wet round here.
Any coffee left please?

Wind and snow but only half an inch so far. Hah! I'll join you for that coffee HP. Might as well get to work early just in case it gets worse. Sleepy yawn. Might do the cover for a Wattpad version of the troll story. Got an email asking if I'd written that one on a combination of red bull and speed coz it sounded so wired. Loved it coz that was totally what I was trying for. Hyped up and frenetic. Hmmm maybe a cup of tea instead of coffee.

Coffee available in quantity.

In the early 1950s I was in Gibraltar. It snowed. There was lying snow on the upper Rock and we could see snow cover on the African mountains on the other side of the Strait.

In the early 1960s I was in Melbourne. We had lying snow in the streets.

In both places many people of my age had never seen snow.

Weather, Mother Natures great mystery. I can remember when long range weather forecasting meant later this afternoon. Now, even i can see trends in the weather that will happen a week away. Who would have thought a low pressure in Texas on Monday would mean a Nor'Easter in New England by the end of the week.

Okay enough of that. Fresh coffee is now available. Help your own self.

Since it is Moanday, there should be donuts.

Large black, please and thanks.

It snowed here, but, Deo gratis, not anywhere near the eight promised inches.

It never is the eight promised inches. :D

Doing some research on Westerns. I wrote one for BlackRandi's compilation a while back. I was happy the way it turned out. Now I'm doing a second chapter and I'm wondering where it should go. I left several options in the first one and have already added another in this one.

Which way to go is always a question.
