My first ex-wife's mother had a first cousin who was married to a doctor/husband like that. He would do that to the girls and keep them buffaloed. Then I was invited to T-giving one year. We thrusted and parried until we talked about the two antique carriages in the barn. And I knew more about them than he did. And it got better as we probed other things he didn't know - old farm stuff and cars and things mechanical mostly. And he got quiet.


My ex-MIL always thought it was a hoot how I kept him at bay.

Had a fun afternoon. In the chaos of two major projects, we had a broker boat trip event at the Jersey shore.

We rented a pontoon boat and sailed all over manasaquan bay. Very nice - a great day to be on the water w a nice sea breeze. Wrapped up w a happy hour on solid land. And got some promising new looks at some business were trying to do.

So work… but better than the office. Much better.

Hi all... dinner meet8ng at an Italian restaurant. I had carbonate and a mini cannoli for dessert... normally I dont like cannoli...but this one was delicious... faint hint of orange with a fluffy mascara one filling and a little chocolate shavings o the end.... and they let me take some home for my dad. Absolutely.... it is annoying and makes a shitty job so much worse.

For instance, right now in a meeting where we had a 20 minute convo about aligning a portion of a spreadsheet we are using where they have the name and date stuff all wonky.... after that my team member brought to their attention the problem we had just spent 20 minutes talking about and coming up with a resolution as if it was a new topic.
