We always headed to the shore or docks when the storm could move in. We did not want to experience what you described!

It isn't good, it is bad, to be close to lightning. I live donw here in the lightning capital of the US. We have a hockey team with it as their name. Anyway, I was out in a small boat on a lake with family and friends heading back to the dock because a storm was approaching. At one point everyone's hair was standing on end and you could feel the static. We docked and were driving away from the marina when lightning hit a tree maybe 100' away. Too freaking close. I can still see it decades later.
 
Good morning spooner in the diner especially you early risers.

Storms faded late evening and we had a small amount of rain. This morning it’s very muggy and occasional rain down pours will swamp us. This is a miserable time of year.

The plan is I watch my delightful granddaughter, lunch with my GF and T then finish my series watching. I think I will make cucumber salad.

I've caught up for this Wednesday. Today was eventful. I had two electricians (REAL ones!) here to fix what the remodel contractor and his (unlicensed) "electrician" did. They found multiple "opportunities for improvement" and fixed most of them. There is a part needed to complete. When they get that, they will be back to install it.

Then, I went to dinner with a friend. This girl is tired! Good night, everyone! ✨️💞✨️

I tried to go back to sleep but was unsuccessful. So, I took myself into the toxic waste dump that is my office and started making an effort to do some clean up before the Xfinity tech got here. He got here and figured out what the problem was, fixed it, installed my new modem, and made sure I kept the same password! I sent him on his way with cans of coke and bottles of flavored mineral water. He tried to demure but my housekeeper advised him to just go with it as he would NOT win with me! 😅😂

I worked with my housekeeper in the house. I had to clean out a closet that holds the attic access for the electrician guys the other day. I went through all the stuff that I pulled out of it. Mostly empty boxes and old phones. She was AMAZED that the closet got cleaned out.

I also painted some metal hummingbirds that I'm using for a little art project. They just weren't standing out like I hoped. So, I gathered up some nail polish and painted them. I like how they turned out!

Then, I went to my friends' across the street for dinner. I brought my dog with me as she and my friend are crazy about each other.

I have gym tomorrow. 🏋️‍♀️ 💪 My trainer will be in fine form, ready to beat me up!

It's FRIDAY now! That means weekend time, baby! I hope you all have a great day as you slide into the weekend. ✨️💕✨️

Absolutely.... it is annoying and makes a shitty job so much worse.

For instance, right now in a meeting where we had a 20 minute convo about aligning a portion of a spreadsheet we are using where they have the name and date stuff all wonky.... after that my team member brought to their attention the problem we had just spent 20 minutes talking about and coming up with a resolution as if it was a new topic.

We thrusted and parried until we talked about the two antique carriages in the barn. And I knew more about them than he did. And it got better as we probed other things he didn't know - old farm stuff and cars and things mechanical mostly. And he got quiet.


My ex-MIL always thought it was a hoot how I kept him at bay.
