You don't like someone's economic policies, that's well and good, but do you not realize what the woman accomplished? That is, as a woman succeeding in what was then an ENTIRELY male field. She did without complaining about discrimination or demanding special set asides.

And there was her first betrayal of the sisterhood.

One of the very few Tories to vote for the legalisation of abortion and de-criminalization of homosexuality; she got a helluva lot wrong but also got significant things right. Took priviledge out of education with Comprehensive schools - Labour policy they were too incompetent to deliver.

What purpose does demonizing her serve?

At least the utterly inept last Wilson/Callaghan Labour government needs similar review.

And why did voters keep putting her back in Downing Street, she created such a strong position that the ineffectual nonentity Major was able to ride her coat tails.
