Welcome to town!
Thank you! Sky was pretty tonight.
Good morning Texas!
My two days in Houston were long and frustrating. The appointment scheduler who shifted my times around screwed up so I couldn't get one of the ct scans doctor requested done but I pushed to the chest scan get done instead of the new area one she wanted. And they finally had a partial result on the genetics test they did from the biopsy sample. The two factors they hope are positive were negative in me but I have a 60% protein factor which makes me an excellent candidate for immunotherapy. But the insurance company will not pay for it due to my cancer being rare and it's not a proven treatment. Yet.. I met with the clinical trial folks and the doctor there seemed real excited to get his hand on me. I mean like a kid in a candy store excited. lol. So I signed on the dotted line for a trial on an immunotherapy drug that they hope will work. I'll be one of 12 nationwide in the study. If accepted I'll do three days in Houston for the work up, a follow up for blood work a week later, then settle into one day every two weeks for the infusion. I can deal with that! Fingers crossed for me, next steps are to be accepted by the sponsor and get my insurance company to sign off on all the testing that the trial doesn't cover.
