Okay, I have apparently been living under a rock during the past week and I didn't hear anything on our news about a terrorist attack in Russia on May 9th (Russia's Victory Day holiday). Can someone fill me in on the details? Where did it happen? How many people were killed etc.? I have a friend in Russia whom I haven't heard from this week and now I'm worried.

Ummm some former Soviet republic (i think) near chechnya, .... 'victory over the nazis' day....dont think it was into triple figures.... blaming it on the chechen rebels....

thats about as much as i can remember

Thanks Star! Nice to hear from you again.

I was just talking to my Mom and brother and they hadn't heard anything about an attack in Russia either. Maybe it wasn't broadcast much here in the U.S. I guess I shouldn't worry about my friend. He's not anywhere near Chechneya. Still, I'd like to have more info so I can talk to him about it. He's always very up to date on American news but there's hardly ever any news on Russia published here. I always feel like such an idiot when he mentions some big news item in his country and I've not heard anything about it. I think I better start watching the BBC news, there seems to be better international coverage from them.

The KGB blew up some more dissidents at Putin's order to further justify war against Chechneya (sp?).

In Grosnyy, capital of Chechnya, a bomb was found just before it explode.
