Fair enough. The thing is that Ben wouldn't care if the meeting was televised. He might point out something to be a smart ass but that's more the fact that when all is said and done he's a bit of a douche than him really caring. There are enough Dick's in the world that you'd have to be a fair way to solving the "who is Nightwing" puzzle to figure out who he was based on his name. Hell Ben might have called him that in jest if he knew but currently Ben only knows the identies of people who've made little or no effort to hide their identities.

Yeah, but someone could put two and two together. Like, they know Nightwing used to be Robin, and that he moved from Gotham to New York. People also know the adopted son of the Prince of Gotham, Dick Grayson, moved from Gotham to New York. So, if someone overheard Danny and cared enough to look into it, they might realize Dick Grayson is Nightwing.

The room is fine. Right now the first floor is just a bunch of equipment and computers all over the place. The second floor has a few offices and the meeting room, and we'll throw in a third and fourth floor that will later be renovated to include member bedrooms.

Oh and the familiar road thing and the fireplace thing were things I devised to add in later in the story, it had nothing to do with the actual meeting. Lol

Background

Jasper Short grew up in the circus as an Acrobat, with his mother, Alice, being a former Showgirl turned general help. Growing up he never knew who his father was.

Until he turned 13. One night after a show, he returned to the trailer he shared with his mother to discover her nowhere to be found but with a strange man sat at the table. This man revealed himself to be Jervis Tetch, aka the Mad Hatter, and that he was also Jasper's father. Jasper ran from the trailer to the circus owner, who, cursing, revealed that Tetch had raped Alice due to her name, and that she had conceived Jasper as a result.

They ran to the trailer, with a groups of others to find Tetch missing, but Alice, laid in her locked room dead, having suffered a heart attack as a result of Tetch's return. That's when Jasper blacked out.

When he came to, he was still in trailer, but the circus owner and the 2 others were dead, having been stabbed. Tetch then informed Jasper that it was Jasper who had stabbed, while under Tetch's mind control, and explained how he wanted to train Jasper to be his true protege.

Jasper merely snapped, and brutally attacked Tetch leaving him in a coma.

For the next 4 years, Jasper was kept in solitary confinement at Arkham, and after his 17th birthday, he began to receive visits from a dark figure who began to ask him questions, about his intentions and his views of good and bad.

Upon his 18th birthday, he is released, due to his previous crimes being on his juvenile record and now he's an adult. As he walks out the front doors of Arkham, Batman is standing there waiting for him, and says he now has a second chance. Revealing that it was he who had been visiting the boy, to see if he would be any trouble upon his release.

He also gave him a parcel. Tetch's old hat.

Understanding Jasper's desire to be a vigilante, Bats recommends the guy go to New York and find Nightwing, who is forming a team...

Hey all...I forgot to leave a note that I would be away this past weekend at Marscon (which means almost no computer contact since I don't have a laptop and the hotel computer is a) for those staying in the hotel and b) sitting in the lobby so I couldn't come here to Lit anyways.

Sorry, internet was messing up again. I "stumbled" upon the wireless config page for the modem and was able to remotely reboot the network from my laptop, hehe. So far, so good. It probably logged my IP address though, so I might be getting an angry call from the landlords in the morning, along with accusations that I am a hacker or something, lol.
