I have little experience with Quicktime. On my PC I just have the free version. It works without problem.

My question is this...how do I download and save quicktime movies from a website. There is a site with movies only available in quicktime format, i would like to be able to save them all. I feel there must be a simple answer that I am missing.

Thanks for your time. Any guidance welcome.

do you have to click a link for the movie to open up?

If so, instead of left click to open the movie, do a right click and "save as" or "save target"

I just get an action to save the link as HTML file when I right click and save as.

my question

I tried to attach an image to one of my posts, jpg, and got the dreaded red x . Anyone want to tell me what I did wrong?
I also got a literotica "oops" message about it.

It appears I have version 5.0.1.10

i may try to upgrade, though I am not usre it will help as its playing capabilities are fine.

I have trouble viewing certain jpeg pictures in Netscape, apparently it is less of a problem in Explorer(which I hate).

I have never gotten that red ex but i know the parameters are that it be 100kb or less and 800 x 600 or less. Perhaps it was a jpeg with insufficient compression? try running the pic through a graphic program and saving it again under a different name, sometimes this corrects it.

Possibly...

Not all sites allow their movies to be downloaded (for FREE since I suspect the type of movies you're after), so the problem may be with the source not giving you the option. I've bumped into that with news clips in various formats before. You have to go back to the site to see them.

And wizard, that often can mean the image exceeded the size allowed (I think). That's happened to me numerous times... That could be a new tag line... I'm so hung, Literotica couldn't upload the .jpg of me... ;)

5.0.2 is the latest version. I have a Mac which comes with the quick time player but my only experience with it is to click on a link, the video downloads, and I play it.

The image I tried to attach is 96k. I couldn't find out about the resolution.

Pan.....there is no way around this.

I can usually get around mpegs, avis, and rams....but mov(quicktime) I am clueless about.

And it is "that" type of site but this one is actually a pay site which I was given a membership to. They should at least let me take some movies, least they could do....I'm sure not renewing.

THANKS TO TODD

Todd walked me through this problem. Finding the program to bypass the interference I was encountering. Smooth sailing now.

Todd, thanks for the time and effort, very much appreciated.

And when you get them...

Remember to let us know if they're any good, BUDDY!
