- No, and I never will 41330 24.6%

a younger sample I guess, but still hard to believe that
almost 75% will have one. Darn.... and to think I could have gotten one from Two Thumb Tommy in Singapore. He's probably dead now.

I know many people who have them, but I also find it hard to believe that 75 per cent will have them. Perhaps those who have them and want them were more interested in checking out and answering the poll?

I don't find it the least bit difficult to believe that 75% of AOL users have tattoos :)

Not to pry, but what would you have had tattooed? That stuff always interests me...

Manu and I saw a special the other night on tattoos. According to that special a full 25% of those who get them eventually seek to have them removed. The new laser procedures cause less scarring than the old removal methods, but they're still very painful and expensive. The laser reacts to the ink, causing it to 'burst' according to the doctor they interviewed. The body then disposes of the 'burst' ink the same way it would any other foreign body. If the ink is deep, it can take several sessions to fully remove it. Yikes! Tattoos are forever, people! If you're gonna do it, you gotta keep that in mind.

I don't have any tattoos, and I never plan on getting one, but I have seen two interesting examples:

1. An Olympic gold medalist swimmer got the Olympic rings tattooed on her ankle. You win the gold, you deserve to celebrate. And a tattoo is easier to wear every day than the medal.

2. I saw a woman at a local tattoo parlor getting a small blue star put on her wrist. For every major event in her life, she's gotten a small blue star tattooed somewhere on her - for her graduation, wedding, birth of her first child, opening of her first business. She's now sprinkled with them, and unless you know what you're looking for, they look like little birthmarks.

I guess I like tattoos that commemorate special events or people. The drunken impulse to get a glow-in-the-dark Pink Panther tattoo are the ones that end up getting removed.

I have one, which is actually a set. I love it (them) They are representative of me, and all that I love in life. I couldn't imagine not having them (it). But, it is in a place where no one sees it. Well, now, that then starts to bring up the subject of my sex life. Never mind.

We both have tatoos. Mine is on my right shoulder blade, and is a small, white rose blooming. Nice and feminine. And so darn easy to cover with make-up come performance night.

MB has an Celtic knot design on his left, well-muscled pectoral. *grins* Boy, is that fun to try and "untie." Nice and tasty.

I have two tats. Both are small depictions of Eschscholzia californica, the California poppy. Besides being botanically accurate (each has the right number of petals, for example, and correct-looking foliage), they're both artistic and really beautiful.

I got the first one for myself as a 21st birthday present. It's located far to the inside of my left hip, in a place that only shows when i wish it to show. The second one, high on my right shoulder blade, just went on last November.

I love them.

I'm among those who also have a tattoo. It' on my right upper arm, and doesn't show unless I want it too. I got it around a year ago, and have already found the next one I want, now I just have to get the money for it!

I have one on the first vertabrae of my spine, right under my collar line... it's about an inch squared and it looks like this, but in red ink:

I'm not going to tell anyone what it means because it's sort of silly, and a terribly long story. But I like the configuration of it. I got it on my 18th birthday.

I am on AOL and dont have a tattoo! I feel all left out. hehe.

im thinking bout gettin' one someday though. Its gonna be cooooool too. ;)

I have one on my left shoulderblade. planning another. but still missing the people who'f actually design it with me. Ah well, One day.

I already have 2 and I plan on one more. I want a dragon on my left shoulderblade. It's symboli and quite meaningful to me and to someone very special to me. I will never tattoo a name on my body, but I will put his mark on me. I love my tats. I look at them as my own personal artwork. Mine are rarely seen unless I want them seen and very few people know I have them. Someday, maybe I'll tell them all. :)

I love drunken Marines

I know a Marine that got drunk with us at Mardi Gras and woke up the next day with that little dog from Blue's Clues tattood on his ass.

I have one. I like it. Had it since I was 17. Its not going anywhere. It has a great memory of 3 best friends together on the best weekend of our lives, attached to it. I wouldnt part with it if you paid me. :)

"Behind you, behind you"

Oh dear, now you all know I have kids (well those who recognise the line, but then - you have kids too right?). Another thing I have is a tattoo. The Rebel Alliance symbol from Star Wars on my left shoulder. Means a lot to me and I got it as a 26th birthday present to myself.
