Tanka Poem

Mr. Burns headed the English Department of my high school few men were his equal:

The good is but the
Guinea stamp, a man’s a man
For that. Mr Burns wrote
Upon my Yearbook quoting
Robert Burns Quite ironic
"Ae fond kiss, and then we sever;
Ae fareweel, and then forever!"

Swoon!

I adore your thumbs
crafted to windshield-wipe
away all my tears

and now I need the final 2 lines -- so I was thinking...each of you brings your own unique talents and I've super appreciated all of it. seems to me if the poem generates some emotion: a chuckle, a guffaw, a tear, a longing, excitement, arousal, etc. then each will have real merit.

Anyway...if y'all would indulge me... at least this one time 😇

I don't think I've set anyone up for failure-- if I have then feel free to just keep my first line or at least the motif of "thumbs" :)

I adore your thumbs
crafted to windshield-wipe
away all my tears
turn them on intermittent
I'll cry when least expected
