Free verse is poesy that challenges the reader. Free verse is liberty. Free verse is the flight of thought to unchartered regions, free verse is discovering the undiscovered country. Free verse is being human.still, I kinda like rules... like what even is free verse?
Already have! ‘Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’ (To use a phrase from Shelley). What do you have to say about that Niv? maybe compose something from your pov?
No no, not wrong at all!! I love how you talk about the speaker’s doubts while also exposing their eroticism! Lovely!!!Is it wrong to want,
To trace her most intimate,
Her utmost private,
Unconsumed and unexplored,
Her basis and basest dreams?
no, I meant... in response to Alina's "Get the whip" -- pretty sure you were about to be disciplined there...Already have! ‘Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’ (To use a phrase from Shelley).
I had to look that one up: A villanelle is a 19-line poem following a specific structure and rhyme scheme. It consists of five tercets (three-line stanzas) and a final quatrain (four-line stanza). The poem utilizes two refrains (repeated lines), with the first and third lines of the first tercet alternating as refrains throughout the rest of the poem, and finally appearing as the last two lines of the quatrain. This is a very fun thread.. we should do one for the villanelle
Well, who wouldn’t want a good whooping!!no, I meant... in response to Alina's "Get the whip" -- pretty sure you were about to be disciplined there...
If y'all are interested in villanelles here's a thread of erotic villanelles we did here some years back. Maybe they'll inspire some here.I had to look that one up: A villanelle is a 19-line poem following a specific structure and rhyme scheme. It consists of five tercets (three-line stanzas) and a final quatrain (four-line stanza).
