Supreme Court Takes Trump's Immunity Claims

Presidents don’t even have immunity for crimes they commit while in office.
Technically true, but in this polarized environment it's worth noting that then-majority leader Mitch McConnell gave the failed one term president "Honest Don" Trump a get-out-of-jail pass for all high crimes and misdemeanors.

The Congress is supposed to hold a sitting President to account if they commit crimes. The failure of the last Congress to do so is an indictment of them as well.

Your premise is flawed, not unlike your entire life.
Total immunity whilst in office would mean that Trump could strangle your favorite fuckboy to death on national TV and suffer no consequence for it?

I
don't
think
You have zero knowledge of the totality of my life or of any aspect of it beyond What I have posted.

In essence, the Mississippi v. Johnson decision reinforced the idea that the President is largely beyond the reach of the judiciary when exercising purely executive and political powers23. However, it is true the ruling does not provide absolute immunity but rather considers the nature of the President’s actions in specific contexts.

Trump has not been charged criminally in the J6 matter. Be advised however that the Court held in Nixon v. Fitzgerald that the President is absolutely immune in actions for civil damages for all acts within the “outer perimeter” of his official duties.

So, when will we be indicting and charging Barack Obama On October 14, 2011, Anwar al-Awlaki, a 16-year-old American citizen, was killed in Yemen in an American drone strike. President Obama directed the CIA to assassinate him despite the fact that he had never been charged with or convicted of any crime. He also ordered the extrajudicial killing of Osama bin Laden. Will Joe Biden be prosecuted as an accessory after the fact for murders committed by illegal aliens deaths caused by his actions to flood the country with illegal aliens in violation of immigration laws? Would FDR have been prosecuted for rounding up Japanese American citizens and putting them in concentration camps? Should he have been prosecuted on robbery charges for seizing all of the privately owned gold in the US?
Jack Smith's claim against Presidential immunity is obviously too broad.

Donald Trump is charged with interfering with the counting of votes in the 2020 election and conspiring to overthrow the government. Neither was part of his job as President. They're crimes no matter who commits them.

That is not true.

Jack Smith is saying the President should not have any immunity for official acts. So, should Barack be prosecuted?

Donald Trump is not being prosecuted for official acts.
Yes, he is. He was doing his job as President to see that the laws were faithfully executed during the election. That is one of his official duties among hundreds of others. He was President at the time.

So, back to the question, should Obama be prosecuted? Jack Smith is claiming Presidents have no immunity of any kind.

So, I'll present the same to you:

The President has no authority to enforce election laws.

He pressured the Secretary of State to find enough votes for him to win.

He did not press the Secretary of State to "faithfully execute" any laws during the phone call.

So, back to the question, should Obama be prosecuted? Jack Smith is claiming Presidents have no immunity of any kind.
That is not what Jack Smith is claiming.

He has the ultimate authority to enforce federal election laws.
The Constitution vests authority for the selection of Presidential electors with the individual states. The President himself is excluded from the process by design. The founding fathers anticipated that an unscrupulous President might try to use the powers of the office to remain in power.

Consequences of the War on Terrorism, which you used to support under your previous userid.

The Japanese were regarded as "unAmerican" during World War 2, not unlike all Hispanics in Texas in 2024 (regardless of citizenship).

Please be clear and specify. I’m not clear on what you’re claiming.

Key Al-Qaeda guy. But sure

He also ordered the extrajudicial killing of Osama bin Laden.
Really? If Bush got him you’d be singing praises.

Simmer down. You’re getting hysterical.

Jack Smith's claim against Presidential immunity is obviously too broad.
Nah, probably not broad enough.

You perpetuate this lie over and over. I've posted the facts regarding this and yet you lie about it here once more. Get your facts straight.
