I don't think you do anyone a favor by putting a happy smiling face on it.

Well you got me... I have no idea what it means... but this is the second time in as many days that I have seen that reference to sub lust....

I am taking a leap here and guessing that sub lust refers to wanting a master without knowing if that person is good for you or not....

And perhaps not even taking the time to get to know the basics about that person?

Okay, I am glad to know that I am not the only one in the dark.

Okay, so refresh my memory: Where is this mysterious other reference to sublust? On a different thread, I assume? In what context?

OK... so we're all gonna sit around wondering about this topic together? Fine. If anybody figures this out.... please enlighten us.

Thanks Sandia. Yep, its what I thought it was. It can indeed lead to disaster.

sublust=fool rushing in

Ever notice how many BDSM "terms" are simply analogs for regular terms?

subspace=tantric=great sex

You know?

exactly.

The only good part of arriving late is I don't have to wait for the answers.:D
Now that I know what sublust is, I agree that it can be foolish if not down right dangerous.

Sublust is a bit like HIV. It is highly preventable if you know what it is and how to prevent it.

Recognizing it is the first half of the problem.

For those of us who have been bit by the sublust bug, find solace in not being alone in your stupidity :) <-------smiley just for WD!

As a strictly editorial observation, comparing sublust to stupidity and HIV seems a bit, well, extreme.

Why this kinder, gentler Lance, you ask?

Well, it occured to me that sublust is something I'd like to receive more of.

:)

Oodles and oodles.

Enough to fill a book or two.

Just because one makes a mistake does not make one stupid.

One should be able to live and learn from them,yes?

subNaive would probably be more accurate than stupidity or sublust. Putting your faith in anyone you meet over the computer where there is no accountability is just asking for trouble.

There is this lady, I’ll call her R, I emailed a few times just because she was close by and on the bondage site. Nothing much more than “hi, where are you” kind of stuff, then one day I get a message saying she’s found her Master. So I wished her well. A couple of weeks later I noticed that she was checking in to bondage a lot more than usual so I asked her what was up. She said the guy had found someone closer who wanted him to be exclusive and he asked that R remove all references to him in her profile. He still wanted to see both of them, he just didn’t want the new sub to find about it.

Pretty typical story I guess, we’ve heard similar ones here. I do have empathy for the online shoppers and I know there are success stories out there. But I think many submissives would be better served by getting involved in the skin and bones community rather than the virtual one.
