Poor Laz, always hiding behind generalities, info so general it’s hard to be wrong about anything. My bad though, I should have realized that Laz doesn't know shit about US military aircraft other than some can fly really high and really fast and is an expert on anything google has on its site, information I should have differentiated between fighter aircraft carrying triple fuel tanks, full after burners minus ordinance breaking ceiling records as opposed to actual combat operational ceilings with a full load of ordinance and fuel. Fighter jets start losing efficiency over 50,000ft where the air is thin, my bad. Thrust to weight ratio’s are obviously different when carrying 23,000 lbs of ordinance ( F-15E ).
Today an F-22 shot down the Chinese spy balloon using an AIM-9 sidewinder from 58,000 ft to its target estimated to be at 65,000 ft. Combat operational ceiling for a 22 is 60,000 ft, the only American fighter aircraft that can perform tactical operations at that height.
