This doesn't give me a lot of faith in the Chinese, if they can't get some spy satellites up there and instead have to use balloon technology...But wait! There's more!
2ND CHINESE SURVEILLANCE BALLOON SPOTTED OVER SOUTH AMERICA, PENTAGON SAYS
Now they can’t make up their mind on whether it was a 16 or 22They do have a service ceiling of 58,000 ft. and its cannon has a 2000 foot range.![]()
So you wouldn't run away from a Grizzley eh? Well best have some good firepower then.....I don't run away from anything without six inch claws.
Who can't make up there mind, the military, or those reporting on it? Does it matter if they shot it down with a jet, or used a guy and a slingshot? I'm more interested in what they can find from the wreckage. Now they can’t make up their mind on whether it was a 16 or 22![]()
It might take a while to bring it down slowly. The balloon is said to be huge so it might take more than a few 20mm holes to expel all of its gas and bring it down in one piece. Now they can’t make up their mind on whether it was a 16 or 22But its a goner

don't worry - while you guys spend your energy erasing history -This doesn't give me a lot of faith in the Chinese, if they can't get some spy satellites up there and instead have to use balloon technology...
What I don’t understand is why Canada didn’t shoot it down, don’t they have kites that go that high?It might take a while to bring it down slowly. The balloon is said to be huge so it might take more than a few 20mm holes to expel all of its gas and bring it down in one piece.

fucking china is cranking out rocket scientists by the thousands.
It's on its way down now, looks like several pieces. Many metallic pieces are visible in the falling debris. What I don’t understand is why Canada didn’t shoot it down, don’t they have kites that go that high?![]()
Now the story is an F-22 with a single air to air sidewinder missile *heat seeker* at 58,000 ft.It's on its way down now, looks like several pieces.
What might have been the heat source on that balloon to guide the seeker of a Sidewinder? Now the story is an F-22 with a single air to air sidewinder missile *heat seeker* at 58,000 ft.
Debris may have landed in less than 40 ft of water.
Wouldn't it be really funny if it really was a weather balloon.![]()
Same issue, over land. What I don’t understand is why Canada didn’t shoot it down, don’t they have kites that go that high?![]()
If the best China can do is shoot balloons our way, I think you and wrongway are getting way over reactive about China...*chuckles*Rumor has it another balloon was spotted over Canada. #3
NORAD had to be tracking that thing while it was still over China and all the way here.Same issue, over land.
As to our kites the CF-18 only hits 50,000 so tactically it might be an issue. Be different I guess when the F-35's we're buying of the US get here. Till then we will just have to rely on the NORAD agreement eh?
I have no idea, I thought you had all the inside information...*chuckles*NORAD had to be tracking that thing while it was still over China and all the way here.
Looks like the sensor package separated at the moment of contact, and will be pretty much destroyed on impact with the water. Now the story is an F-22 with a single air to air sidewinder missile *heat seeker* at 58,000 ft.
Debris may have landed in less than 40 ft of water.
Wouldn't it be really funny if it really was a weather balloon.![]()
They may have been doing so....but it doesn't mean they knew what it was or why immediately.NORAD had to be tracking that thing while it was still over China and all the way here.
Maybe Biden was hiding classified documents on the balloon and the special counsel shot it down.Trump can fly like Superman and would have just flown up to that balloon and punched it out of the sky
