Re-reading The Client by John Grisham

Oh that is a good one. Did you know that the boy who played him in the movie, died recently? I have all of John's books and many are 1st editions and signed as well. He is about my favoite that I collect.

My library seems to be leaning more towards the Fantasy genre, from Terry Brooks-JRR Tolkein

Oh speaking of Grisham, I have always loved The Partner. That was such a great book and was surprised they never did a movie on that one. Any of this books that could have been a good movie, that is the book.

Nothing wrong with that. I have read of few of those. Especailly the Tolkein books. Loved how they did the movies and The Hobbit is next to be made into a movie.

I had heard rumors of that. I hope Jackson does this one too.

I didn't know that, how sad. The only movie I saw based on one of his books is A Time To Kill. It was good. I saw part of The Firm. I have most of his books, they are not first editions or signed. I am on the waiting list at the library for Sue Grafton's new book T is for Trespass as well as James Patterson's Double Cross and 7th Heaven. Will buy them eventually when they come to the flea market I get some of my books. Another good place to get books is the Goodwill I have bought quite a few there for very little.

I know I am not the normal guy when it comes to books. I decided to become a collector years ago. I have all of Sue Grafton's books as well.. Here is a hint.
I rarely buy them when they come out. I wait until the paperback comes out, then you can find the 1st editions in stores on the discount area and they are about the price and sometimes cheaper then the paperback.

Speaking of The Firm... the ending in the movie was so differnt then in the book, but I liked it as well. I also have some of Patterson's. Did you see the piece they did on him and how many books he has already for writing? Man that guy just pumps them out. Of course now, he has other writers and all he does is the outline and basics of the book and lets his other writers fill in the details.

I will try reading just about anything. Two of my favourite authors are David Gemmell and Kathy Reichs and I have those can't put it down days with those

I have a notebook I keep in my purse of my favorite writer's so when I get a book I can mark it and I don't know the # of books af Patterson but his list is the longest followed by Mary Jane Clark. The only book I have bought when it came out is the last Harry Potter book both hubby and I have enjoyed all of them. He likes to read as well. He likes Robert B. Parker, Clive Cussler, W.E.B. Griffith, J.R.R. Toilkin, and others I can't remember.

Yea I love those guys as well. I have all of Rober B. Parkers. Hence the name Spenser... lol

David Gemmell is fantasy and writes fabulous scenes of battle. Druss the Legend is one of my favourite characters, an unsuspecting hero.

Kathy Reichs is crime, the series Bones is based on her books. She is a forensic anthropologist, so her books have amazing technical detail.

OH ok... I have seen her books. Just never read her. I may check her out.

When I hurt my knee and couldn't walk the three blocks to the library, I found booksfree.com and have been with them ever since. Now that I've moved and don't live that close to a library, it's a godsend. I still buy books, but not many.

WOW! I knew about this kind of service for movies and computer games, but this is much more interesting!

BTW, just found this thread. Thanks for this Spenser!

It's better than sliced bread! They also sell new books. Last week I bought two books with the money I earned from donating books.
