I kind of love the wild rain, but it's been a long wet year here. Fortunately, our drought is over. Unfortunately, we've got lots of floods. Nothing really close to me, but pretty much all around me! Enjoy the rain. Rain is life.

Hello, Space Cadets!

I know, it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything, and honestly, this is going to be a single post login. Lit, for me, just isn't what it used to be.

That said, I also have a few very good friends here, and I just spoke on the phone with Azul. I need to let those friends know what's going on with me, so I'm here to do that.

In a nutshell, I've been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. I'm doing chemo now, along with a bunch of other stuff that I won't go into right now. The prognosis isn't great, but it could be far worse, all things considered...

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive and kicking, and waging all-out war with this thing. I won't be back to post anything, or if I do, I'll post very little, really. There's a few reasons for that, the primary one being that I have more important things on my plate right now.

I will, however, log in every day to check my PMs. If anyone wants to get in touch, shoot me a message, and we'll figure something out. And for MMW, I promise I'll be in touch today on Skype at some point. I'm not using Skype a lot anymore, either, except for my kids, but I'll message you ASAP.

I hope that all of you are doing well, and as I said, I'll check my PMs daily to see if I need to contact anyone. Take care, all - and I'll be talking to you again at some point.

Always thinking of you! Hoping to get to go see you soon and next month I'll do my best to bring along Cj

Dumpling - dang, that is cold!

I moved to this part of California out of Nebraska many years ago and it is the weather that keeps me hooked here. High cost of living, heavy traffic - yet all worth it to live in this beautiful weather. Even when it is bad here - it's not really bad. It gets chilly, but not cold. It rains a lot in the winter, but it's just rain - not freeze your ass solid sleet.

I hope you all are having a good Thursday. Today, try and savor that which is beautiful in your life.

I've been clearing storm fallen tree tops and clearing brush today since its been windy enough to dry things out here. There's more to do so I won't linger. Hope all are well and that all of you are just as anxious for spring to get here as I am.
