Wildly beautiful. The storms here tend to be heavy, long lasting, and steady coming in off the Pacific, nothing like the wild storms of the midwest. I often say the two things I miss the most about Nebraska are the wild thunderstorms in late summer and the endless sweep of the night sky.

I'd read many times about thunder and lightening during a severe snowstorm and wondered where that came about. Then I experienced it a few times under the right circumstances. It was a very strange experience.

good Sunday afternoon. it has been a crazy and hectic last few weeks. Issues at work - making for a hostile environment leaving me drained by the time I get home. Looking forward to a 2 week break from the BS and a few weeks at HOME!
Hope all come back in the new year with a new attitude at work that lets us get this job completed by March. Then thinking of taking a break from the road and head home to take care of some things there.

Starry - just take your time getting settled and unpacking.
Paul - good advice - I need to go thru the RV and sort and give away some stuff - then do the same at home (hopefully in March)

Shmily - my PT is over cutting me a break on the moving. I stopped at the cemetery today and one of my former drill Sgt friends is coming over after work tomorrow to help me unpack a few things too high up and heavy for me to move.

No net service yet. My land lady is gonna have to call their people. It's a router issue. Ive got the code to the wireless router, it connects but can't communicate with my laptop. If I clip in the cat 5 into my wireless router the laptop see that too but still no access.

I've been somewhat occupied with extended family doings and pricing some home repair projects. Even better I've been looking at old blacksmithing tools and books, its amazing how much could be done with so little. Aside from that 'tis the Season not to let oneself dwell to deeply on life's sadness's. The thing about the glass being half empty or half full??? Totally correct. Press on.

We humans are creatures of near infinite adaptability, which is why we've thrived across the centuries. Many of our tools are just automated ways to do what we'd previously done with ingenuity and hand tools - automation and modern tools just let us do them on previously unheard of scale. Still, I've personally found hand skills to be a vital part of who I am - carpentry, metal work, electrical wiring (though, electricity still scares the crap out of me).

I'm pretty much a relentless optimist - each day I wake up is a new day. The chains of the past only bind me in my mind. If I happened to carry out of the past scars, changes, etc., well - those are the new terrain of the now.
