Spacebar 3.0 >.<

Good Morning Spacelings - I'll echo Azul's wish for a happy and safe Thanksgiving for everyone, whether you're spending it with family or with a close circle of friends or with the simplicity of your own company.

Other than that, I need coffee! :)

It's a bright, clear and rather cool morning here in California and with the impending holiday I am already starting the mental shift into vacation mode.

Good morning Spacers and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I wish you each and every one a peacefully happy day of friends, family, good food and shared memories. Be careful in your travels and remember that its ok to love yourselves to during all this busy day. Far to many people overstress and blame themselves or others instead of simply laughing away simple mishaps.

I'll pose he question of the day...what's your best Thanksgiving Day Memory?

Mine was the first TGD w/o a turkey. I was ten at the time and didn't like turkey because it didn't taste as good as the chicken dishes we'd have. So I was very surprised to find out we were having a capon, which of course I had to go and look up in the World Book Encyclopedia. My reaction had everyone laughing. And yes, it was delicious....

Happy Thanksgiving....
Not any outstanding Thanksgiving memories. I like the parade but with no TV right now it's not happening. Managed laundry, dishes and re packing a couple of breakables bins this morning. Then re packed some clothes into huge zip locks to use those 2 bins for more breakables.

Ive had to go really easy this week because PT did a hard number on me Monday. They tore up enough scar tissue to bruise me up and it burns to use the bicep still. I did take a break and went to Bob Evans to find some Thanksgiving food so I'll have left over again tonight too.

Hope everyone has a great holiday :rose:

Good morning all.

My best Thanksgiving Day memory is still the one prior to my mother in law's passing. It was an excellent dinner at her place that ended when the question was asked about her hair color. She said something about how she still had her brown hair after chemo when some know it all said it was black. Turns out after a lively hour long discussion....I was backed up by the entire family including her husband. :)

We lost her the beginning of February after that, but it is still a distinct memory that I still cherish.

Ah Coffee....Sweeet!!! It's pretty outside here today and a much more pleasant day then yesterday. No matter how hard I try not to do so I always overeat on TGD and spend the next day recovering. This year an extended family member cooked a turkey on a smoker grill that disagreed with me. Ah well, that's the adventure of family holiday meals get together's. I hope everyone else is well.

Starting bag 6 (55 gallon trash can) in the shred- a- thon.
Getting sore and tired. Thanksgiving was repacking 5 bins to include breakables then trying to restock the stuff back out of the way. Over did it bad and ended up Friday doing nothing trying to recover.

evening Spacers. I have been off-line for a few days - loved visiting with my daughter and her extended family.

My Thanksgiving memory that gets me every time is the last with my mom. We had all gathered at my sisters, knowing it was close. Mom was fighting breast cancer. She begged us to take her "black" Friday shopping. So us sisters gathered her up and went out and about. We had a great time, by early afternoon she was getting tired. So we went back to the house. She insisted we go back out and pick up the last few things on the list. We hadn't been gone long when my sister's husband called and told us to meet at the hospital. Mom hung on until Monday. But left us with good memories those last few days.

Good morning all.

It's the Monday after Thanksgiving here in the States. I trust everyone had a great weekend.

What is your go to way to get rid of excess leftovers from a huge dinner?

Morning everyone. :rose:

Shmily ~ glad you had a great trip to your daughter's. That Thanksgiving memory sounds like a really good one!

Your Blueness ~ Sending leftovers home with single people who would eat them was the thing at our family celebrations. Unless there was a someone who had waited all year for a certain dish, then those left overs went home with them.

Repacked breakables into some bins and moved stuff that I shouldn't have tried but needed done. Got bags #6 & #7 shredded and out into today's trash pick up. New KT Tape ordered that will be here tomorrow and I have PT today. I used the Amazon Smile program that gives a donation to a charity. The one I switched to was Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc.

We had my very favorite service dog die on Thanksgiving and it's hit all of us who knew her and her Daddy hard. I cried so much that night I was a mess Friday. She was in horrible pain and distress. The pet ER found her heart extremely enlarged with fluid and prognosis was terminal. He did the hard honorable thing for her. Thank God the Guardian Angels team is not making him wait on the months long lists for a new Angel / service dog. They are having him meet a new dog today. This has been so hard, he honestly thought he'd outlive his fur baby. If I'd had the money I'd have flown out to TX to travel back with him.

This is just another person I know whose getting hit with 2017 as a new year = new life.

Good morning Spacelings

Hope everyone survived the holiday and, hopefully, had a nice one.

It was very good here, Thanksgiving at a friends (whose daughter is a chef), then the weekend in San Francisco and along the coast, wandering and spending time with an old friend/lover who was in town for the holiday.

Now it's Monday and I am - not ready to charge into the day, but I am going to anyway.

When it comes to leftovers, I have an advantage of having a couple of friends and associates who are chefs, so holiday dinners tend to be very close to perfectly sized with minimal leftovers.

Thankfully I didn't have any leftovers to contend with this year aa I simply took a dish to a partial family gathering. But in years past I'd end up tossing uneaten leftovers after the third day.

I'm not a big fan of turkey hash and while I do like gumbo I mostly prefer it to be a seafood based version.

I saw a recipe for turkey chili that I saved off - LOL - now all I would need is some leftover turkey. There are only so many things you can do with leftovers.

Next time you have any left over turkey try shredding it and allow it to simmer in some seasoned chicken broth while you prepare your softshell taco fixings. Steam (or nuke the soft shell taco's so that they're warm and enjoy. This is also really good with sandwich wraps and both are essentially very wet, messy, delicious examples of comfort food.

I didn't have leftovers as I was at my daughters and everyone else did the cooking!
The Mexican feast - we had a few tamales & no enchilada's, a serving or 2 of rice & beans - my daughter claimed that.

no power / storms coming / so need to conserve computer battery to charge phone.

catch a later = gator.....:kiss::kiss:

Hope the storms deliver much needed rain without disaster.

A kind of long Monday, but I'm settled in for the evening - it's cold and windy outside (relatively of course), so it is a perfect evening for being lazy and inside.

For reasons known only to the universe I'm not a huge fan of tacos, though a quesadilla sounds good.

Hiya Space kids!

We need the rain over here. The fires are spreading further into Tennessee. They've sent crews from here, middle of the state, to the mountains to help. It's scary.

And wtf, only 2k+ posts?!?
