Good morning Spacelings

Starry - moving is a great way to discover just how much "stuff" you've accumulated. I try to live in such a way that I don't have a lot of material possessions - but I'm still amazed every now and then when I do a purge.

Shadow - those are California grade fires you all have going there. Hope the winter rains come in soon to give them some relief. Sometimes California burns until the rains hit, but, we're used to it here. (The seasons go like this - summer, fire, rain, and mudslide - with the occasional holiday for riots.)

I've got a crap load of work related stuff to do today, so it is going to be one of those slow and steady to knock things off kind of days.

Paul, we could purge for weeks from the basement alone!! We get the occasional little mountain fire over here, but I don't ever remember anything this bad.

Azul, got my snacks! ;) Thanks!!

Of course you and I know that brush fires and forest fires have always been a part of the life cycle in the Great Smokey Mountain region. Any South Easterner who's grown up in rural communities or spent significant time outdoors knows this. We're saved a lot of grief in that most municipalities areas follow rivers and are located in valleys.
Paul, you'd be surprised to find out that parts of the Carolinas, Kentucky and Tennessee get as dry as pars of California do , we just lack the deserts. I've watched and helped fight some brush fires that were pretty scary. The volunteer firefighting stations that mostly service rural areas have some pretty good brush fighting trucks and boas set up with slide in pumping equipment and tanks.

I was a volunteer EMT as a teenager & we had a few big ones. I grew up in Virginia, surrounded by mountains. I miss them. Not a mountain in sight here. We have big hills, lol.

It's a diverse region Azul, beautiful in parts and starkly ugly in others. The poorest people I've ever met in my life were in parts of the Appalachians.

Very true. They are some of the proudest people too. I miss hiking on the AT.

Good morning. It's the final day of November which means tomorrow starts December. This also means that we'll be talking resolutions soon.

I will not be doing much today because I started getting sick last night after work. So I am staying in bed.

ahhh December 1. not to many days left in this year. Time to reflect and see if you made a difference in someone or something. Resolutions for the new year.
We finally got some rain and they say more is coming next week!
Hope it is helping the fires north of me.

Good morning all.

I am not sure who will be in today, but what is the weirdest thing you have received for Christmas?

Well it is still morning here so good morning or suitable greatings for applicable time zones. I'm currently researching a new laptop purchase with some frustration I might add. Hopefully I can find a longer lived one that isn't priced in the "are you kidding me" range but still good. Ah well such is life right?
Strangest Christmas gift received? An unsigned card with no other information other the being addressed to me.

Peeks in... I'm still alive. 99% packed just the food, fridge, clothes I'm wearing and bathroom items I'm using mainly left. The tent outside I need help taking down. My neighbors are picking up my trees to plant in their yards.

I have keys. My new landlords are so cool. They put an American Flag for me in the garden by my door. They gave me a green porch light to support my veterans and the accent wall in my bedroom is police blue. They put in new kitchen cabinets and built a microwave shelf for me... And I have a real stove / oven!!! I've never lived anywhere this nice ever.

I'm getting really nervous but the move is mainly boxes and bins. Only big stuff are the couch, college loft, futon bed, a bakers rack, and armoire. I loaded down about half the charity truck today with stuff not going.

Morning Mushu ;). When I was 16 or 17 one of The Three Musketeers (as Daddy called us) gave me & the other girl a 12 inch vibrator. She then proceeded to CALL my Dad & the other girl's Mom (the cool parents!) and TELL them what she got us! My Dad was lhao when I got home! I was mortified of course. Put that thing to good use though!!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!
