Spacebar 3.0 >.<

I have so many games that I have never even played yet when I look at my Steam library, I think, "There's nothing to play."

Bedtime! Gnight!

How many days have I been alive? Well, according to the internet...

Today is day number 10,403.

So? 28.5 years old then? Chris, your still incredibly young with any possible future you choose. Carpe diem, take not consul of fears and press on.

Besides, you need to get more active in here again for the entertainment factor, you go off on some pretty good rants. :D

And good morning to you to by the way!

haha Yes, exactly. May 3rd, 1988 is my DOB. =P

I do love my rants. No pun intended, but I imagine most people think of me with a tin foil hat on all the time. I'm constantly looking up how government and big corp are trying to screw us. I look for odd and ridiculous contradictions in society.... like how the DEA has marijuana as a Schedule I drug. That entire concept just blows my mind. What about alcohol?! Alcohol is not only legal, in some aspects of life, a person's worth can be associated with alcohol. Examples include:

- How much alcohol people can handle? The Irish are awesome because of that, apparently!
- Can you take hard liquor straight? "This one will put hair on your balls, son."
- Wealth - Expensive scotch, wine, etc
- Taste - Craft beer drinkers
- Medicinal use - Social events as an anti-anxiety med and helping men everywhere get laid.... or to forget the fact that they will never get laid. 'sigh'

ANYWAY, it would take a lot of unpacking to sort this all out. Obviously, we live in a country where taking alcohol away would be absolutely impossible. Also, to be fair, there are many many MANY people who can drink responsibly. And there are health benefits that come with a drink or two occasionally.

I would argue, however, that despite all of it's good, alcohol is one of the most dangerous and harmful drugs on the planet. Marijuana isn't even close, not even by the slightest margin. So, who's to blame?

Well, first of all, we know there is PLENTY of money coming in from Anheuser-Busch. No shit, the government is drunk.... literally. There's a documentary called Beer Wars which explains how corrupt the beer market (or whatever it's called) is. Anheuser-Busch actually endorses and pays for all the beer at the more laid back corporate (Edit: I meant Congressional, but probably corporate, too) events. Which corporate events? I don't remember. The documentary has details. My government knowledge, or lack thereof, should not prevent me from making this point because it's true, even if I don't know what I'm talking about. lol

Secondly, religious people. Corrupt motherfuckers! They fight against abortion! FUCKING ABORTION! Abortion is a sacrificial act of saving tax payers billions of dollars per year. No no, Republicans need more people. The rich need more people to be slaves to Capitalism. Why, the richer a person is, the less likely they are to have many children! Poor people pump out babies like a daily deuce. If the poor were to have abortions, we wouldn't have workers! And we need workers who make no money. Another note about the religious - THEY FUCKING DRINK! What the fuck is that shit??? I'm not talking about drinking the blood of Christ. I'm talking about drinking the piss of Anheuser-Busch, for fuck's sake! Walk into a church, don't say anything about alcohol, because that's where the religious are out to get you. They look down upon heathens who DRINK.... but when you get home and the Falcon's game starts, time to see how much we can put down before having to piss.

I'm making a new paragraph because that one looks too long. But I'm still on the same point. "Think of the CHILDREN!" The children?! You could have thought about the children before you pooped one out into this fucked up world!!! "Oh my kid is an atheist and doomed to hell for all eternity!" You know what would have fixed that? YOU GETTING FIXED at 16.

We create our own illusions to blind ourselves. It is none other than our own faults which lead to our own fall. We want to do whatever we want, but we also want to be told that we're going to die and spend an eternity in bliss. BUT That would require being a good person. I like being a bad person, smoking weed and playing videogames. Well, to fix that situation, I do all that stuff and then I ask for forgiveness, god still loves me, and I still get to live forever in happiness while Akbul Bombaduschekiller spends an eternity in hell for believing in Allah, WHICH IS THE SAME GODDAMN WORD AS GOD! They are one in the same. You are speaking to your god as if he's not the Islam's god. "Hey, god, listen... their god is fuuuucked up. I'm glad you're not like that even though you are but I'm not paying attention."

The lazy. Are the lazy really the lazy or are they just fighting the system? I mean, technically they are just lazy, but there is a huge stigma on the heads of those who don't work or are homeless or simply those who are unfortunate. The fact is, the rich NEED those people to WORK. The rich need them to work for FREE or as low as it gets. People who do not work or who are homeless are considered the scum of the earth BECAUSE as a nation, Capitalism needs to those people to open up their assholes and accept the big black DICK. Capitalism is like when a man gets a girl drunk to fuck her. She's happy at the time, but then she wakes up like, "Oh man, my asshole and vagina are broken." That's what Capitalism does to us!

What was this all about again? Oh marijuana, yeah... uhh... the whole point is that alcohol is bullshit and marijuana is less bullshit, but it's more bullshit that the government has it on lockdown. And the reason it has marijuana on lockdown is BECAUSE OF MONEY AND CORRUPTION.

Yeah.... so there...

Money and greed, the destruction of civilization.

Money and greed, the destruction of civilization.

Yeah, I think humans weren't prepared for civilized lifestyles. I don't believe evolution was able to make humans deal with any kind of society except for maybe the most basic kind. Somebody mentioned it in this thread, that we are flawed. Our thoughts are always geared toward needing more, wanting more, and reproducing. Our ability to take advantage of tools has thrown a wrench into natural selection and natural instinct (pun intended btw).

The need for sex is very real and not some temptation from some dark overlord. The need for sugar is because long ago, sugar was a difficult resource to come by. Now, we consume it in unexpectedly high amounts. Meat may have been a necessity but now it's a luxury. All of our greed and desires have come from the fact that we now have nearly unlimited access to resources our ancestors never had.

This is all depressing. :(

All you can do is enjoy the life we have for as long as we breathe.

I don't know how much your into history and cultural anthropology Chris but the only current thing that's really new is how rapidly science and technology have advanced and influenced society as a whole. Applied science in technology has always influenced mans ability to produce foods, materials and shelters with and exponent increase in population, workers, businesses and brokerages. I don't find reality depressing because it is what it is, I just look for more insight and how to avoid problems.

My thoughts have always been, if you don't like what's happening in the world, what are you doing to change it?

Morning. I spent way too much time in bed today. Taking pics, thinking naughty...

Now it's time to get up and start the day! I might see Girl on the Train tonight, read the book last year.

Culture and technology have bypassed the human species' need to adhere to normal evolutionary processes. I think currently natural selection is very weak in shaping our evolution but it has the potential to be stronger in the future. We will adapt if needed. Right now we just designed our environment around us so we don't need to.

I enjoy thinking about things like this.

I think it's more about human nature and greed. We can use technology for the betterment of the planet or for destructive purposes.

But when that stronger pattern of adaptation comes, it will be involve a brutal process of selection and winnowing out, along lines that are not at all obvious now. In other words, we can't say today who will probably be among the "fittest" in the new harder circumstances, but we can be sure that a lot of folks won't be.

Welcome jordan!

Very true, who knows what will happen? Maybe people with diabetes who hold on to their sugar will be the strongest in the future. All I know is our dna continually accidentally outputs anomolies, in our current state they just get smoothed out, but maybe one of those mistakes will be to our benefit and help us survive far into the future.

And I'm sorry, you had already been in the Spacebar, that would be just a "hello", not a "welcome". :cattail:

I concur but the one thing so many choose to ignore is how easily a pandemic could reduce society to early 20th century levels at best or early Colonial levels. Many places in the world are still at a stone age level while others aren't far beyond Medieval Europe. Yep, this is the kind of stuff I read about and study.
