Someone Needs To Invent Thanksgiving Lights

The Xmas lights were up in my town the day after halloween. maybe the people that already have their xmas lights up never took them down last year. Why are people in such a hurry? When do you put up your Xmas lights?

I like to wait

until at least the weekend after Thanksgiving - but a lot of neighborhoods down here do light judgings by Dec. 3 or 5th - or whatever first weekend in December is - so people have to hurry up with them.

I noticed one of our local malls had some of their outside stuff put up this weekend - not lit up but already put outside.

I think Thanksgiving needs a few more recognizable symbols. Besides turkey, cranberries, Pilgrims and native Americans, what else is there?

On Thanksgiving Day, homes should be lit on the inside. Outside, light up the approach for guests and visitors.

They have them. The wire do-dads with lights in plastic tubes. We have Turkeys and Pumpkins up in the windows now.

They have them for almost every season now.

That's part of the beauty of Thanksgiving. It's not bogged down by too many symbols. It's a simple holiday. Eat and be thankful.

I have had Christmas lights on my porch since like....August
And they will be their until I move out!

It's a college thing.

The other college thing (and beyond) is that the folks wait until the kids are home for Thanksgiving, then make them put the Christmas lights up.
