The teleprompter theory is more plausible than the idea that Trump was hit by a bullet, but I want to see the damaged teleprompter before I’ll believe it.
I said same thing initially, but they are saying it was a bullet that nicked his ear. To me it doesn't make any difference. The wound was the result of bullets fired with deadly intent that not only wounded Trump but killed another man and severely wounded two others. I don't understand the need by the left to belittle the event, minimize that fact that an assassination attempt was made, and demand the iconic photo taken be buried and not shown. I think you guys are losing it.

Remember recently, when that young airman shared national secrets to impress his on-line "friends". on that “Discord” site??? That kid was raised by an ex-military stepfather and was found to have a large stash of guns when arrested.
This is just a more extreme version of that incident, imho, and who knows if Teixeira wouldn’t have graduated to something like a shooting rampage if he hadn’t been caught for sharing those documents on-line.

The doctors would know damn well if it was a bullet or a shard of glass.
And if anyone thinks there is no difference between getting shot by a bullet vs getting nicked by a piece of glass when "promoting" the candidate and the incident to the public for political purposes, well…
At this stage, I believe it was a shard of glass, because Trump has placed an NDA order on EVERYONE involved in his security detail and the doctors.

You could add to this list the fact that Trump routinely stiffs local governments for the cost of providing security for his rallies. Maybe the local police figured they were going to get stiffed so why go out of your way to do anything but the bare minimum.Why???
I think the local cops were complacent / incompetent when they didn’t detain Crooks after finding him in possession of a range finder and seeing him loitering around the building: A building that the Secret Service had assigned to then local cops.
I also think the site location and the general chaos associated with Trump rallies played a part.
The fact that it was a Donald - “turn off the fucking mags - I don’t care if they have weapons - they’re not here to hurt me” - Trump rally also contributed to the complacency with security, imho. The kid being white was probably another contributor.
I’m looking at Trump, his campaign, and the local cops, as bearing primary responsibility for the security failure.
Under those conditions, something like this was bound to happen eventually. The Secret Service can’t cover everything in the chaos and lax security environment that Trump has created around his campaign rallies.
Ultimately, blame Trump.
He has demonstrated an intractable spirit, the resilience and determination of a courageous leader. He has withstood all of what the left has thrown at him. As much as the left would wish to do so, It cannot be denied.
Despite my addition to the list, I don’t believe this was a screw-up by local LE or the SS. I believe this was staged by the Trump campaign with the assistance of his loyalist SS agents. This ^ is conspiracy theory stuff that is undermined by all the points made in my original comment AND by the additional point you made about local cops doing the bare minimum due to the risk of getting stiffed by Trump.
But that ^ doesn’t detract from your addition of Trump stiffing localities. I will be using that in future discourse on the matter.
