Is it Autism Month again?

If you have nothing to add, stfu.
I have actual experience as an athlete which you lack.

You can't handle the truth.

What happened to her was the equivalent of Muhammad Ali fighting Trevor Berbick.

Think of the comeback story she would have been had she just refocused
instead of retreating into self-pity...

It's possible that it was ego-driven.
She lives in a world of hype and adoration.
She could have let one misstep put the thought in her mind,

I'm Simone Biles, I cannot fail! If I don't compete, I cannot fail anymore
(because the whole world is focused on me).

As for the above-mentioned breaking her neck,
those pads are thick and state of the art.
It's hard to have a hard landing...

I know. I've worked out with another school that held practice in a gym
and my kid was in gymnastics. I don't think she was afraid of injury.
I think she was afraid of embarrassment; a loss of confidence.
I really don't get this situation at all, and haven't heard any reporter mention it. Don't these girls train A LOT! before the Olympics? get the timing down? workout like every day? Get their mind in the right place? And A SPECIALLY! the real good ones. I like the girl, she seems so sweet and nice, and smart. You would think if she was having second thoughts about her ability to perform, she would have known that before she went.

So was every thing good during her training? then she just messed up that one time, so she said I can't do this?

The emotional reaction, I submitted in another thread, and posit here now
(with the confidence of being a minority myself) but is she was a white
athlete, then you would be seeing the exact opposite reaction.

I think you are right that this leads to retirement.

Bro she's 24. She's above it.

That's why I submit that ego got in the way of good decisions
which led to a mental problem; the failure to recognize reality.
Even she stated before the disaster that at 24 she was the
grandma of the squad. It is a girl's sport, not a woman's.
The young tend to be fearless, which is why they draft
18 year-olds for the military; no concept of mortality.

And I'm not paying too much attention to the Olympics, but
this has come to dominate the news, so I looked into it and
commented. Clearly I was supposed to keep my mouth shut,
nod my head, and go along to get along with woke nation...

I'm not sure why the older blokes are having such a hard time grasping the fact that BILES IS DONE. The woman is not competing. She's fucking done, mate. Finished. She's done you dumb cunts. :cattail:

What I note is that the right, for the second Olympics in a row, has chosen to attack a star female athlete for not representing our country according to their rules. Kinda pisses me off.

And yes, I have a lot to say on this topic from a mental health viewpont, and will. I put some in another thread already. Might just cut and paste it here. Thanks for the invite.

(and I could run your sorry ass into the ground any day, mr athlete)

The reports that I am reading is that she still is holing open the options
for the individual balance beam and floor exercises...

... she must feel she can still get her mind right.

The writing is on the wall.

Oh cry me a fucking river. "The Right?"

FFS - It's just political to you.

(So you want to face me in the ring? *groan*)

Well, there you go. Our good Dr. of Ideology to the rescue

Go back to sleep. It's nap time. Sorry we woke you.

I'm not trained in the ring. Everybody knows how to run.

And if you don't think the right is attacking her endlessly, you truly are asleep.

You are purposely mischaracterizing what I am saying which is a typical tactic of yours.

If you cannot fight, then you run. I don't need to run.

As Dr. Daeshik Kim puts it, if you cannot fight and turn the other cheek,
it is not a noble (or Christian) act, but the only thing that you can do.
If you can fight and you choose to turn the other cheek,
then that is truly a noble act.

Respond to my post or sit down mate.

She's finished mate. Finished.

That's what I have said. She fought for a spot on the team and she
should have fought through one bad event, but she didn't.
She hid behind her mental state. Once you do that,
its time to hang up the leotard (/gloves)...

I have no idea as how to respond to something like that.

You're sole argument seems to be that it is a priori...

This is as good a post to play off as any.

First off, I want to point out that I was an athlete for over 30 years in active competition.
Did I play through injuries? You bet I did! Did I play through mental uncertainty?
Of course I did. In my early days of competition, I lost almost every match I was in to
more experienced players. So I have more than a little bit of insight into the mind of
the athlete. (I would direct you to my earlier post on page one.)

Play? What sport do you "play" against "players" in a ring??

Other than Mike Tysons 'Punch out'?

If you were a true athlete, competing at any reputable level, you could sympathize with the mental anguish when your shit isnt right. Do some push through it and succeed? Yes. Countless others, on the other hand, fail and consider it a giant mistake. Your pseudo machismo take on it is a glaring insight to how much you dont understand or ever could. Its not your fault. Im sure you really want it to be true, but wanting and being arent the same experience, no matter how hard you close your eyes.

Byron hated you because you're a stupid fuckwaffle.

You will never know, champ. You could be the best gymnast and you would still never know, so fuck off.

Never heard of Judo?

You need to read all of my posts. I have fought against mental anguish and prevailed.
