Whatever it takes I guess.
It's not like we haven't been witnessing it for several years. You - and many others - for far longer.

I'm probably the only person in this thread who has actually been on an Olympic Team.
Other than adre?
Someone need to hand out the towels and keep the water bottles filled with Gatorade™.
I note how those with no ability to cogent discussion merely snipe.
Luk wants to go back to the days of whites owning slaves.
Thank you luk Jr.
I've already posted about going to Giants Live last weekend.
Mark Felix was there. A man who is still qualifying for World's Strongest Man and setting new world records, even in his mid 50s.
He quit less than a second into the first event, underperformed in his next event, and dropped out of the competition. You could see in the pre-contest, behind the scenes footage that his head seemed to be elsewhere.
Every interview I've seen since the event, the other strongmen have just shrugged and said that everyone has bad days. Nobody thought he should have pushed himself harder and risked injury.
Knowing when to step back is probably part of the reason why he's still able to compete with men half his age. In a dangerous sport, he hasn't permanently fucked himself up.
When posters like luk, adrina, adre and now SpaceKowboi begin to post,
all attempt at discussion comes to a screeching halt because the only
thing ever on their mind is not the topic, but their political enemies.
It's really sad, but this is the type of thinking that dominates
in Progressive so-called, "thinking."
I addressed the topic and they addressed me.
They've even stopped employing the "She could have broken her neck" argument.
It is so easily put to rest.
But, he did, as you point out, take a second try...
You can get seriously hurt in that sport, but he had his pride and no-quit attitude.
As I pointed out, I experienced many setbacks, but my pride (and work ethic) propelled me.
Nothing political about it, sport. I was just reacting to your audacious attempt to explain the mindset and motives of someone who is the greatest to ever compete in her sport. Plain and simple.

Get off your cross you martyr. I didn't say jack about politics - but you sure have. Repeatedly.
You just couldn't resist trying to make yourself feel like you're above Simone Biles. Now you want to have a pity party when it's obvious that you're the only person that believes your nonsense. Simple as.
The good thing is that you are in the minority. By a handy margin.
You aren't.![]()
